Following are the official figures for UK registered Spyders

987 3.4 Spyder                YR 10  = 147                 YR 11 = 89            YR Jan 12 = 1                Total = 237

Not bad for a limited market production car especially when compared to all 3 previous 911 Speedsters which ran out at circa 90 UK cars in total
Will there be a 981 Spyder too [8D]

Bit shiny that - here's mine once used as its maker intended!

But I may have had to clean in immediately!

Finish the car off - everyone would notice the plate - not the dirt[;)]

Hi Richard

Glad that you managed to find the stats.

They are a little more exact than the ones I got for you from Porsche.

i certainly hope so-thats what I was planning next[8D]

so we had a 986 Boxster Spyder 550 - GT Silver

Then came the 987 Boxster Spyder - the one with the Red Interior

So what is the name of this model?

Could be a helluva long wait if Porsche follow the "end of production" schedule as on previous 911 Speedsters

The Spyder production line only ran from February 2010 to July 2011 [&o]

Bit odd they didn't run it for longer. Perhaps it was only ever intended to be an experiment rather than a 987 run-out model - testing the market as part of the design of the 981. Perhaps they even considered dropping the powered roof completely but were put off by the negative comments in the press?

The new 2013 Porsche Boxster was finally revealed last month and we await to see if the sports car maker will make more high performance versions of the model.

The Cayman receieved an array of high performance updates for the 2012 model year in the new "R" variant, but we haven't seen the same version for the open top model.

This is where Milanno Artworks comes in, he has created this very speculative rendering of the Porsche Boxster R. It features a number of changes that are inspired by the Cayman R and they have been listed by the designer:

Adjusted front bumper with enlarged bottom trim and redesigned intakes
Added Porsche side decals
Performance wheels tinted in black
Mirrors tinted in matte black
Integrated Porsche sport seats
Redesigned side intakes
Added rear spoiler

It remains to be seen if Porsche will ever build this model, but perhaps you want to weigh into the argument in the comments section below.

Thanks for the reminder on the plate. It's certainly better value than the £25k sought for KE11... We best keep it quiet or my nemesis will buy it and offer it back to me for a huge mark up!!

Not sure about that new "Boxster R" rendering, it's just a normal car with a stripe. To be a replacement Spyder it would need the full marquee roof and a pair of humps!

Whilst that is very true it's nice to see what the car looks like with a side stripe and beefed up front bumper (for now) [;)]

HI all, just picked myself up a Spyder :)

see you all at Boxster and Beyond

Congratulations and welcome to our small web [:D] What is the spec and year etc [;)]

Full hardcore spec :)

10 plate,

NO radio
NO Air con

PCCB fitted
Has buckets
Short shift
Sports exhaust
and got Porsche to retro fit sports mode as I like the extra slip angle it gives you before PSM cuts in.
Spyder wheels
in white
so as light as it can be, may help it along with a dry cell battery and a Remus Ti exhaust.
Just deciding what tyres to get but sizes seem a pain. I have new PS2 on atm but want some R888/Cups or some thing as it's a 2nd car for me.

A seriously lightweight spec indeed. Was the car specced by a private man or Porsche themselves?

I have driven what I thought was a lightweight example at the Experience Centre launch days but even that car had a radio and air con otherwise it was almost identical to yours ie PCCB: Short Shift PSE Sports Chrono:

It was a Press car but seems to have had a easy life ie. no over revs in range 3 so no missed gears.

It Also has a leather dash which ups the inside a little from plastic which looks great.

A very nice car 60k+ spec I guess , you can tell it's super light over a normal Boxster I had for 4 weeks on loan.

So true Spyder spec, which is what I was after for a 2nd week end car.

Welcome to the gentler pace of the PCGB forum Demon, you'll be reassured to know that Zyp doesn't post on here!!

What does your leather dash weigh? ;-)

I did wonder what the dash weighed :[-)

I est a good poo lol.

Not Sure what's up with Zpy, he likes the name calling.

Got my new boxster invite at launch day then going to the Silverstone meet Sunday 29th, should be a good turn out.

What car you after when you sell the Spyder ?
