Steering wheel advice

Yoda

You're spot on, the wheel is definitely a 928 part.

Jon

As for the centre pad, I'd be straight back to the dealer. I'd ask them to provide the correct centre and I'd say you're not prepared to pay a penny more for the correct part. I say that because the correct horn pad is a lot more than £200 and the correct wheel is now close to £1000!!!

Damen

ps Rich, hang on to your spare. You'll be able to retire on the proceeds of a sale in due course if OEM parts prices keep going up at current rates....

I'm not selling mine Damen. As you say, in 10 years I'll sell one of the spare wheels and buy a villa in Barbados. [;)]

What's strange though is Rich's spare wheel has the same part number, same diameter, same rim width and same appearance as my 944 wheel. [;)]
So maybe the 964rs wheel isn't quite as rare as everyone is led to believe?? There's always a supply of 944 wheels for sale on ebay.

Not at all, I alluded to the fact I'd seen some threads on this already in my initial post.... It still raises doubt over whether the wheel is actually a 928 or a 944 part. You're saying 944 yet others suggest 928. Perhaps both work.

Under my desk I have the original wheel for my N-GT.

Now let's see ... 944 - 347 084 09 (10VERL)

RS Pad (no horn marking on mine) 944 347 859 03 --- but there is also the number 944 347 859 05 with a horn symbol after it.

Is this a clue ?

I agree entirely, well worth having an original steering wheel, it's one of thing the collectors look for.
