if they break up then aldi's gum / goo / glue off remover is amazing for £2 and it had no adverse effects on my paint.
If it is in one bit then I'm afraid heat and patience is about it! I got impatient on my first 944 and tore it too quickly and it took a lovely bit of paint with it, so beware!

When fitting the new ones I cleaned the area for the vinyl with window cleaner to degrease, use a spray bottle with a water and a little (drop or two) of washing up liquid, spray this on your hands and the car to wet them then spray the vinyl on the glue side make sure you keep them all wet and apply vinyl to car then squeegee the water out from behind once your sure they are lined up.
No finger prints on the vinyl and you can get the position correct without any problems. Mine were clear one by the way but sure this would work for any, technique I have used for applying stickers etc onto bikes and cars for years although original idea comes from model aircraft transfers.
