Thanks again for the evening Chris, it was an excellent if somewhat sobering talk. Took me three goes, but I dug out my insurance documents to double check as soon as I got home!

Great night very informative ..definitely getting one of those Trunk Monkey's [:D] Thanks once again for organizing the event ,and like your company car

Excellent evening, Chris, thanks for organising it. Just glad I'd eaten before I came out, not afterwards.

Yes, Thanks again Chris - was very interesting and please pass on thanks to Ian. Your story about confiscating both of a family's cars at the same time worried Val so much she made me go outside in the rain this morning and replace her blown headlight bulb even though it had only blown as she was reversing out of the drive. For people wanting to know what "the computer" thinks about their insurance there is this: askmid.com (motor insurance database) - says it costs £3 a go - but just click the "check my car" button and it's free.

It was a good evening and a good turn out with about 15 club members who turned out I have passed on our thanks to Ian for his input. It was a little insight into how when it does goes wrong how much time and effort is spent into find out what happened and why it happened. Will try to arrange something else in the near future. Thanks again to all that turned out Chris

Any chance someone who went could do a write up about the evening for the forum or Porsche Post? Sounds like it was a very informative night but unfortunately some of us couldn't make it so it would be nice to read about it??? Kim x

HI Brian, Got it..............very good reading, think will pass to Scott for PP. Also, got a nice piece from Chris which I will cut & pastee onto the forum when I get home tonight. Thanks to you both! Kim

Hi all.............thanks to Chris for giving us a report on last Tuesdays visit. Tuesday 1st February saw the re-arranged visit to the Crash Investigation Department of Strathclyde Police. 15 club members came along to that talk given by Ian Gray Forensics Crash Investigator with Strathclyde police. The evening stared off with a few pictures and a forensic drawing of a police pursuit, prior to a video of the pursuit being viewed by our club members. Ian then talked about the history behind crash scene investigation together with how a scene is investigate. The level of detail which is undertaken on the department was perhaps a surprise to those who had come along. With a few war stories told by Ian and a look at the Trunk Monkey, it turned out a very enjoyable and informative evening. The club members were then treated to a look at the vehicle fleet run by the Road Policing Department, with a few of us noting down a few registration numbers!! A few stories from Chris had some of our club members looking out their insurance certificates later that evening. Thanks to all that came along and made a great evening for both Ian and myself.
