Sunday Brunch Scramble - Bicester - 4th January

Just to remind everyone that we will be taking part in Bicester Heritage's Sunday Brunch Scramble meet on Sunday 4th January (10:30 - 13:30). This event is open to all classic vehicle owners (their definition of classic is fairly elastic but ALL modern Porsche 2 seater and 2+2 sports cars WILL qualify for admittance to the display area). Entry is free but you MUST register in advance in order to be admitted to the display area or as a visitor to the other parking areas!

There will be a wide range of cars, motorcycles and aeroplanes on display. More information and registration details can be found on the R31 Events area.

FYI Bicester Heritage is located at the old RAF Bicester base on the North side of the town (view location on Google Maps). For those with Sat Navs you should use the postcode OX26 5HA to find the correct geo-location.

UPDATE:

As at 22 December over 800 vehicles have been registered to attend (25 of these being Porsches). Due to the organisers' aim to vary the emphasis of each event and the very large number of Morgan owners who have registered in advance, the large space where we displayed last time will not be available to us in January. In order to park together, we will therefore need to co-ordinate our arrival allowing stewards to direct Porsches to a single location.

In the light of this, has anyone any ideas on somewhere near to the Bicester site where 25 - 30 Porsches can assemble beforehand, around 09:00 so we can arrive at BH at 09:30? BTW, Bicester Village is NOT an option!!!

Alan.

Just to start the ball rolling... There's a nice quiet street (Skimmingdish Lane) almost opposite BH where I reckon we could assemble at 09:00 - 09:15. The location is here.

Looks reasonable, as long as we don't annoy the residents too much and can turn right with not too much traffic[;)]
I can be there at 9am[:)] Suggest parking up facing the right direction(!) ready to go in line... how many are expected?

As at this morning (22 Dec) there are 25 Porsche registered to attend.

I can't say I know the road so can't be sure how many cars will be parked along there at 09:00 on the day. As it's a fairly long road though I don't think it should be too difficult to park there. Maybe someone with local knowledge can shed some light on this.

I agree about parking facing the main A4421. We may have to get someone with a hi viz jacket to see us all across the A4421. I think once we are out on the A4421 we can get lined up on the left at the entrance to BH and will be able to get in together.

The Porsche drivers I'm aware who have registered are:
Tony Scott
Kevin Golightly
Ed McDonagh
Brian Wiltshire
Alan Bartlett (R31)
Marcus Gilbert (R31)
Ed Walker
Martin Broadrib
John Anderson
Matt Finch
Richard Franklin (R31)
Praba Kugathasan
Stuart Smith
Paul Ebbs (R10)
Ian Kay
David Harrold
Jas Phull
Paul Madley
Ian Pattie
Paul Collet
Adre Raun
Matthew Balken
Jason Gibson
David Ingram
Roger Jarvis
Peter Rendell (R31)

NB. Not all of these are PCGB members.

as the last time, I'm weather dependent, will register night before if looks on.... fingers crossed!![;)]

I'd like to pop along if the roads are salt-free. Please add me to the list. Many thanks.

Edited to say online entry form now completed. Thanks Alan!

Thanks guys for letting us know you want to go to the Sunday Brunch Scramble.

Just a reminder that to avoid disappointment you MUST register on the ORGANISER'S website BEFORE CLOSE OF PLAY on FRIDAY 2nd January as they have to provide the security contractor manning the BHC entrance with a list of attendees apparently. Even if you change your mind and decide not to go because of poor weather, acts of God, etc. please still register well in advance and not leave it until the day before. The organisers will be dealing with over 800 exhibitors and about 1000+ non-displaying visitors so your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

BTW, the list shown above is the list provided to us by the organiser at 11:35 on 22 December, so if you're not on this, the organiser hadn't got you down on their list as having registered.

Register by completing the online form here.

Alan

Hi Alan, I registered with BH some time ago, before your posting, so please add Jo and I to your list.
I was unable to attend the first meeting there, but was disappointed to find out that only a few members came from Chiltern Region, Bicester is in Chiltern Region, or it used to be unless I am mistaken?
We will be in a 924 and will be starting our efforts towards the year long 40th Anniversary celebrations for the 924 model.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

Hi
I am now registered and subject to the weather will meet everyone at 9.00am in Skimmingdish Lane.

Hi Guys, All noted. As long as you've registered with the organisers there should be no problem. We just wanted to get an idea of how many folks were planning on turning up so we could find somewhere appropriate to assemble beforehand. Looks like Skimmingdish Lane will work just as long as we respect the residents by not making excessive noise.

In spite of being a mid-winter event when many folks prefer to keep their pride and joy cocooned in the garage, well over 800 people had registered to attend when I spoke to the organiser yesterday. Overall, it seems it could be quite a turnout, both from Porsche enthusiasts and the classic car community as a whole.

Even though you may not be too keen on using social media networks normally, we'd encourage you to follow our Twitter feed (@PCGB_r31) just in case we need to revise our plans on the day.

Look forward to seeing you all on the Sunday, meanwhile have a great Christmas. Alan.

Hi Alan,
I've also registered online, will you add us to the list for Skimmingdish Lane.
