Sunday Brunch Scramble - Bicester - 4th January

ORIGINAL: pse_SC

On reflection, and with the growing numbers, I will probably being meeting up with another fellow member and going in as a pair.
I think we have to be considerate of the residents along the proposed meeting road.

Just had a look at the meeting road via Google and it does look rather narrow in the context of 30-40 cars along it. It was originally stated that we should meet from 9am but the event is stated as running from 10.30, so are able to get access at 9.30?

My confirmation email also says "We look forward to seeing you between 10.30am-1.30pm".

According to the organisers the main gates to the site will open at 09:00. The time stated on the confirmation email (10:30) is the time that the actual event begins, the traders start trading and the general public are admitted. As there are several hundred vehicles to get through the gates into the display area and avenues and many exhibitors to get set up, arriving around 09:30 makes sense.

It's your choice completely, but as we don't have an allocated display area, if you want to park along with other Porsches you'll need to get there early as we are planning to all go in together. If you arrive at 10:30 or later it's likely that you'll be directed to park in the general car park area. Hope that helps.

I have registered and will be attending imy 944S Guards Red reg no 944 STV but as I have not yet joined a region I will have to play it by ear. I am planning to arrive around 10.30 so will try to find you. Have a great day.

Very icy conditions and salted roads where I am have stopped play. [&o] Hope those that make it have a good morning.

Great place, great cars, great people; well worth the trip. Thanks for coordinating Alan.

We'd just like to say a very big thanks to everyone for taking the trouble to brave the cold weather and make it such an enjoyable gathering today. In spite of the ice and freezing fog, a staggering 59 Porsches rocked up at Bicester this morning. Those were the ones we could see!. For those who didn't make it (and we can understand why) here are a few pics...

Porsche fans meet and greet in the freezing fog.

Maybe next time we'll have some sunshine.

Alan.

Thanks for the pics Alan. Sorry I didn't get there. Looks an amazing turnout despite the weather.

Great place, great cars, great people; well worth the trip. Thanks for coordinating Alan.

Definitely - B cold though[:)]
Thanks for everything, Alan - I'm sure the one in April will be slightly warmer - great to see so many car enthusiasts/lunatics[:D]

For those that don't know the RSK isn't. !!!. A very interesting day and well worth travelling from Gloucestershire in my Spyder (with the hood down)

Really very pleased that you guys enjoyed it.

I must confess that when I looked out of the window yesterday at 07:00 and could only see frost and fog I wasn't too hopeful. I had to stop a couple of times on the way to Bicester to pull ice off my wipers. It just goes to show what a hardy bunch you guys and girls are and what lengths you'll go to for a bacon sarnie [;)].

As ever, it's the dedicated band of enthusiasts that turn up that makes an event a success - all we did was tell you about it - so thank you everyone for all your support, camaraderie and good humour.

Alan.

Great photos Alan - looks a great day out. Well done.

It was so warm and sunny here in Lancashire that I had to take off my pullover while I washed the car [:D][:D]

Thanks for organising the meeting Alan and Paul, my fingers and toes have just about warmed up by now. good to see everyone out on what must have been the coldest day of the last few years. Here's to the next time.

Thanks for a great day. Although freezing, I enjoyed meeting many Porsche enthusiasts. It was my first meet and I am looking forward to many more.

Thanks again Alan,

Wayne S
