Suspension / Steering clunk - help in diagnosis please

OK - time for an update

On Saturday I had the car on stands & removed the undertray. Rack was bolted tightly to the crossmember, ARB bushes looked fine, ARB mounts both the right way round, no apparent play anywhere. Springs & helpers looked OK. I was underneath when the wheels were turned & there was no noise. Found one of the crossmember bolts needed a slight bit extra to torque up to spec.
I dropped it onto wooden blocks, again, no noise when turning.
Drive to & from Rutland on Sunday was fine - there's no noise when moving
It just seems to be when the car is v slow or stationary, & maybe the tyre can't slip so easily so the forces react elsewhere. With the window open it sounds like it might be the o/s strut / springs. I'm going to take that strut off the car as it needs the camber adjuster welding up (occasional KW problem it seems) so will have another look when that's off.
Doesn't appear to be a critical issue though.

At slow speed Turning only, forwards only or does it do it when reversing also on a tight lock?
As you suggest it sounds sprung? What's the KW Camber adjuster issue, the Eccentric Washer location tabs?
What Size front wheels & Tyres?

1. both directions
2. yes
3. 225/45/17 (8J)

I wonder if it relates to a slight change in front ride height I made a couple of weeks back. I raised the front by ~5mm. Can't think why, but nothing else has changed.

I thought if it was especially reversing on full lock it could be likely the tyre scrub, this can make a clunking noise my BoxsterS did this
mostly on 8x17 front rims but not 7x16.

The increased raised spring perches would of put more preload on the 2 springs and if the Helper is fully squashed and coil bound it might
be releasing itself open, and clunking on the unloaded side as you turn ?

Other than that it must be the Bass Box in the wheel well moving around a bit! [:)]

Well I thought I should update this...

I did a trackday last week at the nurburgring, and among other issues, the clunk seemed to be getting worse. We had another look & tightened a couple of nuts - on top of the the front ARB drop link, and the camber bolt (geo done last week...). That seemed to fix it, so I can only assume the clunk was ARB related.. maybe the bushes in the wishbone had just compressed a bit over the last 2 years?

Anyway, that paled into insignificance later in the day compared to a lack of forward motion, suspected to be clutch related, but that's another thread.. [:)]
