Tayyabs 14th December 2010

Ok - as recommended by my very social broker friend - "The Boundary" is a good destination for drinks afterwards [link=http://www.theboundary.co.uk/location/]http://www.theboundary.co.uk/location/[/link]

Best PCGB 'Posh' Xmas do I have every been too!!! Many thanks for putting this together. Ps Can we repeat this again next year??? Get it booked soon!!! Indeed can we repeat this next week????

I actually think Tayyabs is one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. Was a great night. Thanks for organising this Carreraboy!

It was good, wasn't it? Great to meet some new faces as well. Des might not be up yet, [;)], but thanks for all the effort!

Great to see everyone and some more new faces ....Tayyabs is consistent, very busy, glorious food ... this was the 4th Year ... Here's to next year[:D] Happy Xmas and a Propserous New Year to all

Great to find such an extravagant welcome outside Yorkshire And amazing to be in the midst of such a curry fest that everybody is getting high on curry vapour [:D][:D] It was loud [;)]

....strangely enough everything I wore last night smelt of curry this morning .... and so went either in the wash or to the dry cleaners !!!! [:D]

Me too but I haven't yet made it to the dry cleaners. Great night but sooooooooo loud in Tayyabs. Good to meet some new people and catch up with old mates. Well done Des for sorting it all out but how much did I drink at your place? The walk home turned into a bit of a stagger and a filthy hangover the next morning but hey, its Christmas.

Des, Thank you for the warm invite and the place for a good (cheap) curry. Most excellent grub! A couple of pints afterwards had by a few of us resulted in me missing the last tube home and getting lost around Bank! Thanks also to Edwina, Andy, Paul, Kish and Nick for great conversation (others too but name memory capacity exceeded after a few). Hoping to catch up again soon. Thanks again Des. Marcus

Great to meet you Marcus, we will be doing this again same time next year, will be booking again well in advance .... I think you came out with the quote of the night ..... "I have only ever been to one Surey R20 meet before" [;)] And thanks everyone for the kind words ......

Indeed, as the words were falling out I realised a made a minor faut pas! - I'm supposed to be a R29 somewhere, but you guys are closer.. Anyway, I know now to keep an eye on your forum and PP pages to see what's going on and drop in from time to time...

ORIGINAL: carreraboy Richard I was a bit worried about you walking home alone, you put a big hole in my Hennessy XO!
I always make it home; I have some crazy mechanism in me which takes over no matter what. Last year I did lunch with a client when I had the flu starting up and had a few ibuprofen prior to a very alcoholic lunch, followed by several hours in the pub. I remembered walking to Turnpike Lane station but when I emerged onto the platform at Victoria I was taken by surprise as I didn't remember anything inbetween. Got on the train feeling very ho-hum indeed and got talking to a woman who was far worse than me and had to walk her home as she was utterly incapable of walking to Bromley College on her own. Walked home, went to bed and stayed there for three days. Not clever. Sorry about the brandy. Who paid for the cab? Looking forward to next year already so maybe we should do a summer event too.

Great to see the regulars and plenty of new faces... sorry didn't get a chance to talk to the other end of the table. Excellent job once again Des; I think we have enough of a following to book the private room for next year? The catch for the private room is that there is a minimum charge per person, haven't checked the latest price but last year was £15, so we would have more than covered that...
