Temporary Noise Reduction

ORIGINAL: jimbers45

I have a pipe coming from the engine into what I guess is the CC to a straight pipe across the back which then goes into a small box on the drivers side and out to the exhaust?

Sounds like the same set up I used to have, cat to Cup Pipe to final silencer -105-107db, usually.....

What's the static drive by(WTF?) procedure at other tracks. I thought the process of suck it and see at Bedford was good....and similar to Oulton. Are Goodwood, Snetterton, Brands and Castle Coombe the same?

AFAIK, the only other tracks with a drive by are Donington, Brands GP and Goodwood. Bedford seem sensible on the advice, but WTF is there to annoy around there!!

My C2 has a Cup Pipe which goes straight across the back of the car and then into a small silencer behind the PU. At one of the Club track days at Castle Coombe last year I was measuring 104.9db at 5500rpm. They obviously let me onto the circuit as I was below 105 but said that I needed to show some restraint along the pit straight as there would be a drive-by test as well. A guy in a Westfield passed the static test but was subsequently called in, having failed a drive by test on the opposite side of the circuit. So, on that particular day Castle Coombe were conducting static tests prior to any track time and then 2 or more on the circuit.
