Testing new track: RAF Odiham Sat 07-Nov-09 *note the date change!

Er, have you just had a e-mail saying that due to cancellation there are 20 places available at £99? And when those are taken it will revert to £145. I have just replied to Chloe saying that I will gladly take one of the £99 places if they give me a £46 refund! So anyone thinking of going, I'd get in quickly.......

Yup, just been sent this:
Stop Press Due to a cancellation we have 20 (twenty) places available for the trackday at the popular Hampshire circuit at Odiham on Sunday 8th November for just £99. To book your place please go to [link=http://www.rmatrackdays.com/]www.RMAtrackdays.com[/link] Please note, as soon as these places have been taken up, the website will automatically revert to the full price of £145
NOTE: this offer is not available through trackdays website, only RMA as linked above! I also replied and said I wanted a refund for the difference! Even if I pull out and then reapply then they would charge £15 (10% for over 30 days) but I'd save £45 on the cheaper offer. Hmmm.... I think at the very least they should throw in a free passenger pass...

Gentlemen, you must be quite well-off. Airfield circuits incorporate areas of hard, ribbed concrete. They will KILL your tyres. You have been warned! JohnC 993turbo

Guys, the circuit looks great and I would have been there for sure but am already booked to work oversees that week - have spent the last few days trying to change plans but can't do it - real shame - straight looks great!!! Darren.

Just got this from the track day organizers
IMPORTANT RE: ODIHAM TRACK DAY SUNDAY 8th NOVEMBER - DATE CHANGE Considering the horrendous number of fatalities suffered by our troops in Afghanistan we believe it would be wholly inappropriate to hold what is essentially a fun event on military premises on what we have just realised is Remembrance Sunday. We have therefore moved the date to the day before, Saturday 7th November. If you are unable to make this date please let us know and we will issue an immediate refund. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this causes but I trust you will agree that under the circumstances this is the right decision. I hope you can make the Saturday and look forward to seeing you there,

Guys - I am very sorry to say that I can't make the changed date (this Sat), so I have cancelled my place and asked for a refund. Weather report doesn't look good for Sat right now anyway so I think it may be a good thing. If anyone else is thinking of dropping out then weather dependant I am thinking of running my Reading route instead on the original date (ie. Sunday) if people would like to join me?

By the way, I have had a nightmare getting my refund back after RMA changed the date of this event and stated that anyone who couldn't make the new date would get an 'immediate' refund. Turns out that TrackDays were the ones who originally took the money not RMA, and they were only told by RMA only one week ago to issue a refund. I have been chasing RMA every week since 1st November so why they only contacted TrackDays last week is utterly beyond me. TrackDays have apparently put a cheque in the post a few days ago so I should get it soon. I would recommend to anyone doing a track day outside of the Club to be very careful about going through RMA. I would just go direct to TrackDays if I were to book another.
