This 930 is a Turbo SE Flatnose, first registered 12/5/86. It was built for Ron Dennis who was the first owner (copy of V5 available). A letter from Porsche confirming the full spec of the car, and verifying it was ordered and built for McLaren also available.

I acquired the car in 1993 with only 600 miles on it, and am the fourth owner. I have used it very rarely in the past 17 years as can be seen from the mileage. It's been kept in a heated garage all its life and turned over/moved regularly to ensure it has not sat for too long. It has been serviced but not every year given the low use. The history is as follows:

1989 Charles Follet, London, 216m
1993 Douglas Cameron Porsche, Perth, 675m
1998 Glenvarigill, Edinburgh, 942m
2009 Porsche Centre, Edinburgh, 1,818m

Past MoT Certificates kept show:

1989 243m
1993 405m
1994 769m
1997 914m
1999 1,024m
2000 1,448m
2002 1,707m
2003 1,802m
2009 1,816m
2010 1,945m

It runs beautifully and is in unmarked condition. It even smells like new. Comes with all original manuals/keys. One for the collector or someone simply seeking the best available.

The registration, THE 911Y, is included in the sale.

Why oh why did Mr Dennis have this built to special order and then not drive it??!!! [8|] What a waste. [:(] Has it really only done 2,000 miles??? I know the late 80's were the bubble, but I thought Mr D was a sensible engineer......

Perhaps he bought it as an investment, as many people did at that time, expecting an instant profit.

The only way to check would be for the new owner to ask him - maybe a letter to McLaren HQ ?

Beautiful car but you'd never drive it! The premium value is in the low mileage (unless the fact that Ron Dennis drove it to the pub once means that much..), which is lost when you get past 5k miles.

Good luck with the sale, and I envy the new owner. Wish I had the money to be not bothered by depreciation.

For a car, the 'value' of which is obviously due to its low mileage (the fact that Ron Dennis originally owned it is pretty irrelevant to me), and which was presumably bought by three subsequent owners as an investment, I am amazed that all the MOTs haven't been kept together with every scrap of paper referring ot its life.

Although the mileage was very low during the period, I would be concerned that the same oil was in the engine between 1998 and 2009. Surely with the value involved, a few hundred pounds on more regular servicing would have been nothing

Thats not the one you want to buy it's his other car which is way more interesting[:D]

Plural, Dear Boy [:)] I believe he has six cars for his personal transport - although some would be illegal for the road.
