The first £100k LHD RS?

I'm doing a Thomas - mine is for sale at £101k (a new record). [8|] His cars eventually sell. Ridiculous price today but like Thomas - I'll wait until the market catches up with what Des knew all along. [:D]

Could I turn down £101k? What would I buy to replace it? What IS there to replace it? [:)]

Is this once you've made it Tourng spec? [;)]

You could buy the Techart Yellow boy from Henry and stuff £50K in your Walter Rohrl pants ....[:D]

Unfortunately no room in the pants as I already have something in there that looks suspiciously like a £50k wad of rolled-up notes. [:D]

Would £101k be enough to buy me a low mileage RS America in Guards Red with power windows and an airbag steering wheel? [8|]

ssssshh guys - keep the noise down at this time of night - or we will wake Melv or he even make this a sticky! [;)]

Buy what you can NOW circa £50k even if they are not "original" the chassis number is everything and move on from there ......[sm=kiss.gif]

It is rumoured Paul that a pair of Walet Rohrl pants were found in a Kettle, but alas no skid marks[&o]

Personally I think 'Essen prices' are exactly that. Prices specifically for people going to Essen and are not necessarily repeated for the rest of the year. A bit like the RM auction at Monterey and very pissed up rich Americans...they don't come out the rest of the year so the mental prices are never sustained beyond that afternoon.

Rising prices are a good thing though especially in todays climate.

But lets be realistic and not forget....

So what would an "all original panels" LHD 964RS be worth with 60,000 km on the clock?

Good ones are offered for 75k EURO over here, perfect low milers 80-100k EURO.

Cars I mentioned in my two year old answer above (75 k) were offered for about 90 k in Essen this year. A serious German magazine rates 964 RS from 43,100 EUR for a car in bad condition up to 86,900 EUR for a good one, i. e. good condition, original panels, reasonable mileage, full service history. They don´t rate garage queens, virgins or "like new" cars.

So, prices have obviously risen, probably the same demand as ever but less supply.

Rgds,

With the weak pound, some more 964RSs will move back to the continent, as some UK owners will cash in.
