The PCM upgrade offer you cannot refuse

I have the latest PCM book that came with my Cayman - all 200 pages of it and that would be a little difficult to scan all that. Even the quick start guide extends to 3 x A4 wide. Shame you don't live closer as you are more than welcome to come and borrow it.

Thanks for your kind offer Peter but as I said above one of my members has a brand new Cayman so I'll take a peak at his. Alan has also offered me a copy of the update document, which PC Exeter are providing him later. So hopefully I'll be fully up to speed soon![:)]

Received my invitation for PCM upgrade although the improved functionality is already in my November 2012 Boxster, including 7 digit post codes. Hopefully worthwhile for the updated mapping for UK and Europe. At the same time Porsche Guilford will carry out minor recall work to replace the switching element in the fuel filler flap which Porsche have had problems with.

I've now had my 981 PCM upgraded, and there is a noticeable improvement over the version delivered with my 981 in June 2012 - updated maps and speed limits, better map displays, and of course seven digit post codes. However, I was surprised to receive a call from my PC requesting that I leave my car with them all day so that they could retrofit a number of changes: - Retrofit belt strap guide - Replace service tray float - Replace water drain sleeve - Re-program rear end ECU - Replace filler flap actuator I can only speculate what these items actually refer to without calling the PC, as a careful look around yielded no obvious changes. But everything seems to work fine, and the car was returned showroom clean. I was even offered another Boxster as a free loan car, so I've no complaints.
