This weekend, I'll be mostly....

Seeing as this forum has had hardly any posts so far today, I thought I'd throw one in...[:D]

This weekend I'll be mostly cutting my front wheelarch liners and fitting my newly acquired brake ducts and assorted fixings.... ... oh and steeling myself for the head/stud removal next Monday and what lies within...[&:]

...I will be mostly (entirely) Porker free as my new one is going to Promax tomorrow to have various bits from my old one transplanted onto her and then a few new bits added as well [:)]

I am thinking this weekend I may at last be able to take my car for a good thrashing (I mean gentle drive [:D]) to Abersoch via mmmm, the roads of Snowdonia [:D]

I am getting mine taxed for 6 months at €470.[:'(]... Got the RF100 form stamped with the Garda to say she was off the road ... I am going to start this weekend and use it as my daily driver [;)]

I will be mostly charging up the battery on the Turbo cab and eagerly awaiting getting it serviced at Porsche Centre Reading for ÂŁ65 plus V.A.T. per hour, with 10% off parts.

I'm really hoping mine will be ready for collection.

Please, please, please, pretty please [:D]

Huge day then Paul!!!

I'm just hoping to find enough time to give the old girl a wash! If I can steal a couple of hours i'll look to replace the wiper linkage (preventative maintenance) and rain scuttle and test fit the Lupo GTi wiper arm and blade.

If weather ok then the car will be driving the wife and I to Gleneagles for a "short break" - no kids!!!

She is all hyped about the spa - me - driving down the drive at Gleneagles with the roof down and then asking a concierge to be very careful in parking my car. (Its the small things in life!!!!)

Sunday taking the route home through Glen Lyon - great drive!!!

Lets hope its my birthday!

Is this there normal rate for an hour ???

remind us why you are taking your head off Nick? [;)]

I am going to make a huge list of little jobs I need to do on the car as soon as the weather picks up.
Ok so I'm a lazy B [:D]
Nick

I'll also mostly be trying to remove my o/s rear lamp cluster to reseal it as there is a slight weap intp the boot from it - trouble is, someone has sealed it with some black body sealant at some point and it doesn't want to come out[8|]

On that topic, I think I might have made a slight boo boo when I ordered the light seal from the PET number - I've ended up with a big roll of the stuff; that's why the total bill was so high...![8|][8|]

So if you need any strips of the stuff cutting off and posting, I'm your man!

Just stick a couple of quid in a Cancer research envelope or something similar

They can be quite tricky to remove - that sealant holds it in pretty tightly (and don't try knocking it from the inside using the screws - all you end up doing is pushing a screw inside the cluster [8|] - I'm full of top tips from the hamfisted school of car maintenance [;)])

If it's just a small leak (and you can locate it) it might just be worth stuffing a bit more sealant over the hole - I know it's not perfect, but it could save you a lot of hassle.

Rubbish! It's easy to lever them out with a large screwdriver, scratching the paint and causing it to rust later. At least, that's how mine was done. []

Oh, of course, you don't need the sealer if you are selling the car. Let the new owner deal with it. [][]

I'd forgotten how p*ssed off I was with the PO of my car! [:D]

Think you've been to the same school of hamfisted maintenance as me...[8|][:D]

I think I had actually decided to try and get some silcone sealant along the bottom joint - did actually try tapping a couple of the locating studs before the penny dropped and I realised what might happen...[8|][&:][:D]

Just the wheelarch liners to remove then...[8|]

If it is the proper black sealing compound like 'Dum Dum' then simply warm the whole area with a hair dryer and it will peel off nicely and cleanly. Having some plastic filler spreaders to use as 'soft knives' will also help scraping off any left over residue.

Nick, I might need some of that roll you have depending how the bodyshop have sealed my rear lights in place [&:] I'll let you know once I see them.

No problem Paul - just let me know[:)]
