Time To Be Serious (The R31 HiVis Vest Fest) - CH - 5th July

Just out of interest which Mah Yong rules are you playing to? I
Thats the problem. I don't know how to play even though I now have a 1940's Mah Jong set but it is just siting on my desk beckoning and not knowing any Mah Jong tutors/players I had hoped that James and Kirk might have encouraged me to participate by aranging lessons as a prize.

Kirk, it is ok, I got the source material from Chinese Steve and he assured me it was ok because of the last issue we had he now gets everything checked by the Shanghai School of original thinking. This renowned establishment is famous for checking copyright and producing some unique products, these include the Parsche Toga and Baxster sports cars and also the Opple e-phone. So with this back catalogue I don't think we will have any copyright issues. Steve's team have just sent me through another option for our logo. As you can see below it is totally unique.

Mr. Uppergruppythingy, as Kirk rightly noticed Simons has been digressing from the topic of this post. I hope you will take action on this, I think he must be banned from washing his car until I do. Either that or I will lend him the hi-viz mankini with flashing epaulettes for the festival.

quote: I do have a High Vis armband Are these not inflatable and come in pairs to aid swimming? Do you also have the matching hi-viz inflatable rubber ring with a ducks head to go around your middle?
No inflatey. Certainly no havey rubber ring with wucks head. Dawnie showing me her high viz shorts and top yesserday. So velly blight I fear I may go blind if lookie too much. Keep to my subject pleasy. Who gunna learn me Ma Jong?

Oh yeah Mr B.; Find the Mah Jong rules here eh? I'm certainly not falling for that old trick. Clicking on that link will probably result in having my DAB radio, microwave oven and coffee maker infected with malware to monitor my every move and push constant ads for high octane huangjiu. Hr. Hr. Bartlett, I am upset that you would think so highly of me to even doubt the reliability of a link I would post. By the way, just out of interest, have you claimed for PPI (Previous Poultry Insurance), do you have solar panels on the hood of the boxster and have your or any one you know ever fallen out of a hi-viz garment? if so please click the link in my last post.

Our Italy trip revealed the House of Brickell's new hi-viz leisure range is now in the shops (spotted in Milan on Monday)...

Hr. Bartlett,

Thank you for the link. However, I believe that you have made an error, possibly as a result of too much lemonchello at lunch time, as the garments look like what you call Hi Vis "budgie smugglers". They are far too small to accomodate the necessary "bits". Given the designer initially modelled the sizes on his own frame I believe that the size should be "pigeon smugglers" or indeed after a good week end eating, "chicken smugglers" (there is a link to exploit there in relation to PCGB) or enven "eagle smugglers". Mind you smuggling eagles is very hazardous as beaks and claws are extremely sharp. Is that why James walks a bit funny? Incindentally I understand that James has been working on some Hi Vis bum cheek enhancers in readiness for the forthcomming Hi Vis Vest Fest. There is also a rumour that if the Hi Vis Vest Fest is a success it will become a PCGB National Event in 2016 with a suitably high profile venue. Any suggestions? Since your trip to Italy did you find out if it is true that the Cosa Nostra used this smuggling method to re-establish the Red Kite population in the UK?

PS I hope that there will be no erectile dysfunction tomorrow afternoon at the Henry Box "playing" field as I have not been getting my full quota of afternoon naps of late and been getting out of bed far too early at 11.45am and can not cope with extra stress.

OAP Hoping the erection will be trouble free tomorrow

Kirk

I apologise for my absence from comments on here but with the repeated & oft duplicated references to Hi -Vis bodywear now coupled with the threat of sexual incapacity ,in the light of a recent H&S warning from ACON(ACAS as was),I thought I would do some research including due diligence.

I found that the bright yellow material used throughout HI-VIS garments could possibly lead to health deterioration, including sexual problems in part due to a chemical ingredient in the special dye used to achieve the HI-VIS lemon/lime (or in the case of Railtrack), orange/red appearence.

Recent research has indicated that the synthetic equivalent to the previous natural ingredient, namely 9 year old camel dung specifically from female camels living in the Ghobi dessert can have peculiar effects mainly on Cotswoldian members of the PCGB & sadly ,it particularly affects the more senior members.

It is worth checking with your supplier that the specific chemical-a volatile hydrogenated amine allied also to Beta Blockers-has not been used namely--2-4-F10ppyd1CK-a nasty derivative of the Bromide based variant referred to in historical documents to encourage high performance in battle by suppressing sexual urges

Hr. B

well spotted the summer range of Semaforo work wear launched in Milan ready for the heat wave. Unfortunately the store had the top two In the wrong order.

kirk. No fowl smuggling went on here but as can be seen the hi-viz had moved on to a new market. [attachment=image.jpg]

this is the lanoso visibile.

Very popular in certain rural areas. Cannot think why.

Vitesse,

I was getting worried that you had passed away or re-joined the MGOC which amounts to the same thing. Good to see you are alive and possibly kicking. Thank you for that erudite piece of information regarding the harmful effects of Camel dung. This provide the answer to my problem and I have now stopped using Camola Vitality (camel dung based face pack) in an attempt to re-capture my youthful looks (although there is some doubt about this as my mother said I have always looked the same).

James. I am a little worried about the sheep pictures you have posted. Have you developed Freudian displacement syndrome? Whereby your unhealthy interest in Hi Vis garments has transfered to an equally unhealthy interest in sheep. Perhaps you have been visiting Wales too frequently and wearing wellingtons?

I am in celebratory mood tonight as I have just completed my first public erection at Henry Box playing fields with the help of Hr. Alan and Graham whilst Chinese Steve and his good lady Dawn looked on approvingly. Wearing the Hi Vis bib backwards certainly helped. The R31 Gazebo looked magnificent fluttering in the wind.

Just to get back on topic for a moment, we would like to announce that, after a robust discussion held at the Witney Car Show last night, the Gazebo and Flag Erection Committee (GAFEC) of the Cotswold Region Popular Front agreed that the suggested meeting place for our Sunday run to Prescott and then to Cornbury House would be at the Maugersbury Road Car Park, GL54 1HH, in Stow-on-the-Wold, at 09:00 for a prompt departure at 09:15. The location can be found by clicking [link=https://goo.gl/maps/8KJgC]here[/link]. You will be pleased to know that parking charges at this car park do not apply until after 10:00 on Sundays.

Updates if necessary will be provided on the day via [link=https://twitter.com/PCGB_R31]the R31 Twitter feed[/link].

Kirk,

I don't know which way to take your welcome back as I am indeed a member of the MGOC,have completely passed away & likely to take the Hump at that comment.

You have slightly misread my erudicity-the problem lies not with camel dung but it's synthetic replacement ,so I beg you to carry on with your face packs,& if she refuses, find another back packer, preferably with 2 fine humps.

As to exultation at your 1st pubic erection ,I would beg caution-particularly when trying 2 together in windy conditions,as we in the North in R18 have found on occasions-as they say-every couple has its moment in a field.

Never ignore the Physics let alone the physical chemistry when faced with wet grass-you could get a nasty electrostatic shock.

As to sheep ,funny that -my darling Daughter has 5 Ryeland ewes in the paddock at her home in Whalton ,Northumberland, but so far they have not worn HI-VIS,kit-it seems such apparel fools the sheep shearers & in any case they already smell a bit like camels.

I will relay your tip about Camola Vitality to my good wife although she has looked a lot younger since she started knitting up the aforementioned sheeps' wool into Hi Vis lookalike jackets to keep the sheep warm after shearing.

Mr Appleton and Mr Brickell, it would seem that we have drifted from the original thread topic somewhat. May I respectfully suggest we start a new thread for discussions about sheep? This will help others with interests in sheep and animal husbandry to find and participate in this fascinating subject.

Herr Bartlet

Das Stimt

But I thought my posts were on topic-but now I'm feeling "sheepish" having had your admonishment "rammed " down my throat.

As a Lancastrian, ewe can't pull the wool over my eyes.

However,I have no idea how to start a new thread,I only know how to start my hover mower-it's less bover with a hover-to float an idea.

However your idea of a new thread to cover sheep is unnecessary as they already have wool for that[:)]

Hr. Oberhauptmann,

There you go again......topic, topic, topic, thread, thread, thread,....clearly your holiday has not done anything to leven your linear obsession. In this instance you have not taken enough Lemonchello.Try and be more Italian... you know tight fitting trousers and lurid budgie smugglers ....relax a llittle anything will do......... and less German..... Ve muss stick unto ze topic upon pain of todt (sorry to any Geman viewers and sensitive MGOC members for this crude characterisation). As the original title for the thread started by moi was "A time to be serious" then I see no problem with animals unless they are not a suitable, serious topic which you are objecting to on philosophical grounds? Remember what Plato said? "If I do not win race two in the Silverstone round of the BTCC my contract will not be renewed". After all are we not noted in R31 for the serious tenor of our written doings? Such is the attraction that Mr Appleton gleefully joins in from Up North despite the cost of electricity to run his BBC1 mini computer and cassette tape back-up and regales us with knowledgeable tales of clogging, Hi Vis, sheep, Camel dung and other stuff of great import. A great forum for learning. Such is the draw here that even Chinese Steve broke cover and risked being "outed" as not really a 'Steve' or 'Chinese' but Ma Jong the owner of the all night Launderette in Sheep Street Bicester which in itself was not really a Launderette but a clever cover for .............................

At the risk of being serious,Kirk (presumably no relation to that similar named man of Starship Enterprise fame),I would like to correct your presumption of the digital technology in use here oop North(sod your liking or not)-in fact I use my fast & reliable Sinclair ZX complete with plug in RAM(there you go ,sheep are never far away) extender which powered by my unique invention of twin bipolar Miller Dynamos, used upsidedown,so avoiding the use of complicated electronic inverters, gives me the signal strength to reach the Cotswolds given the right wind & traffic conditions.

However I do not wish to upset that nice man Germanic Barty ( actually I do in fact but don't tell him) so I have to subscribe to the thread & say due to attending PITTVII on Sunday,I cannot grace you all with my presence at your exciting Hi-Vis Fest on Sunday. The loss is entirely yours possibly due to the overly harsh moderation down there inthe Cotswolds-not generally known for it's seriousness, literally,so I am told[&o]

Vitesse,

No relation to the Captain. However, my mother was married to a Vulcan by the name of Spock. Or was it that my dad did vulcanising and wore a smock. I have never been too sure. Lack of education in my native Bloxwich.

Thank you for updating me on your digi technology. I was particularly impressed by the up side down dynamos. The lateral and inverted thinking involved is impressive indeed. However, does the RSPCA know about your plug in Ram?

I stand admonished and chastised concerning the advanced technology you have access to but a little concerned about the need to rely on wind to reach the Cotswolds particularly as the prevaling winds are westerly in the UK. This means on a bad day your messages could end up in Boston or Norwich and require a translation.

Unfortunately, my geography has alway been a little poor (see educational reference above) so I was getting "oop north" mixed up with "aye oop north". Clearly technology has advanced significantly "oop north" whereas "aye oop north", also known as God's county (no laughing in Lancashire please this is a serious thread), they are still in the technological equivalent of the dark ages with watermill powered chrystal sets. This lack of progress is, I think, motivated by a desire to cling on to the past.

OAP. Dreaming of retirement.....sorry I'm already retired. Must find a different dream thread.

Kirk has been missing from our Meeting last Wednesday and today's Coffee morning.

We have heard he is wearing his new Hi Vis Outfit
