Time to sell my 996 Turbo...

A new business venture means I'm going to unfortunately sell my 996 Turbo. I have a price in mind that I shall advertise it for, but I would be keen to hear what others think is a sensible price. Spec as follows:

996 Turbo (MY2004) / Manual
Atlas Met Grey
Black leather
PCM 2
Satnav
Phone
CD Multichanger
Bose
Sunroof
86,000 miles
Full service history

She has been meticulously looked after. During my ownership I have replaced all the wear & tear parts (with receipts) that tend to go on a 996 of its age:

- Coffin arms.
- ARB bushes.
- Front suspension top mounts.
- Track rod ends.
- Oil pressure sender unit.
- Coolant temp sensor.
- Radiators and AC condensers (black grills then placed in front air vents to stop further debris accumulating by the rads).
- Discs, pads & lines (last week!).

It had two new rear tyres and an MOT in December.

It will also have with it a battery conditioner/slow-charger and Durametric Diagnostic kit...all worth approx £500 alone.

Thoughts??

I've added a few more photos at the request of a couple of people. I'm going to get it professionally valeted before I advertise, so these are ones I've taken fairly recently...on the rare occasion it has not been raining!!!

I reckon 27-28K if you can find someone who appreciates how well you have looked after it and the work you have done, I'd guess you'll get offers around 25K and they will push you because of mileage - there seem to be a lot of people looking on Ph/911Uk but they always state under 50k for mileage. Whereas I'd focus more on how well looked after! 911uk would be a good place for an ad - always people in 996 section looking for turbos might avoid the tyre kickers that PH will generate.

Thanks for the reply...I was indeed thinking around 28k. Based on current 996Ts for sale on Auto Trader, that's a realistic price point, but it's difficult to tell what they are actually going for. Mileage might be a little high for some people, but that's because I use it as a second car and not as a weekend toy. In my relatively little Porsche ownership experience, they liked to be used, otherwise they deteriorate quicker! You only need to breath on the discs and they will go orange!!!...

having swamped my self in Turbo adverts for last 6 months I recon you might get lucky at £28k but more likely £25k because of it being a private sale. Just my view point looking at all the adverts a lot of the time at the moment. I was aware of a 996Turbo get PX'd at £16K to be readvertised at £26k with a dealer. I am still in shock that person let it go for £16k as I know him, he didn't know I was looking at the time. [&:] not all dealers have this mark up but there's an example of one.

Thanks...it's a good point. All of the higher priced 996Ts are being solder by dealers... Blimey...PX at £16k!!! That is ridiculously low. A well known website that buys any car will give £21k!

I know I think there is more to it than that. There was some deal with a newer car or different car. So as with a big head line like that, there is more to it. Anyway what's done is done they have other cars.

Portiacraft have 2 996tt`s at the moment. 03 with 38k for £29k 02 with 91k for £20k Both with 1 year warranties.

Cheers Dave. That's a big difference between the two...interesting.

Is this car a manual or tip ? unsure what PCM is, i could well be in the market for a 996 TT at the end of march.

PCM = Porsche Communication Management = control centre for audio, satnav, phone etc. I should have mentioned it has satnav, phone and CD multichanger...I've now added it to the original post! PCM2 is the newer upgraded version from PCM1 and I believe it was introduced in the 996s around Sep 02 onwards? Richard will correct me I'm sure! She's a manual transmission. Let me know if you have any other questions.

911virgin.com currently have an '02 tip for sale, 76k miles, with full engine rebuild in 2012 for £25k. For an extra £500 they'll include 12 months warranty on engine and gearbox.

ORIGINAL: 912UK Currently dismissed all Tips any reason why I shouldn't
You need to drive one to see how well the Tip box matches the Turbo. You might still dismiss it as not for you, but at least you'll be sure.

She's now on Auto Trader: [link=http://http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201403252789302/] http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201403252789302/[/link]

No idea. It's never been changed.

Epic fail on my part to finish off my comment earlier in the week Steve - started my post and got interrupted at work and never got chance to finish it, sincere apologies! What I was trying to say was I wonder if the 996 Turbo has now reached the point where it no longer depreciates? Valuations seem to vary by 25% for similar cars, demonstrating that sellers and buyers find them hard to price now. As our cars have all past their 10th birthday, maybe the good examples are beginning to reach classic status and maybe depreciation no longer applies? I remember being offered 993 Turbos for little over £30k 12 years ago and look at the price of them now (kind of kicking myself I bought a new Boxster at the time instead of the 993!). Perhaps we'll see the price of the 996 Turbos rising in 5 years time? Anyway, if selling, I reckon this is the right time of year to sell and you'll probably achieve £26-27k. I have a colleague who's looking for a nice one like this at the moment, so I'll pass on the details. Cheers, Neil.

John - if yours is straight along the bottom, with two vents, it is the standard Turbo splitter. I can't recall seeing one like Steve's before. (Which will probably trigger a flood of photos!)
