Toast rack

Evening all. Was just wondering if the 'toast rack', as I believe it is reffered to, will fit my '89 Turbo? I quite like the way they make the rear end look more aggressive, so I'm hoping that the answer will be 'yes' and that it uses the same mounting bolts as the later valance? Thanks, bennyboy.
P.S. Can I make a formal request for as many frontrunner photos as poss for those of us who couldn't make it [:(]

Sorry Paul - got to agree with appleton all the way [:)]

Bennyboy - whats goin on ? selling yer 18"s and wanting a Toastrack

Quite the opposite! I'm after the 'hardcore' look. I am only considering selling the 18's so that I can run at a lower ride height, and I reckon the toast rack looks well 'ard, in an old skool racer kinda way. Picking up my 924T badge panel tomorrow too!

I'm not going to comment on the Turbo valance v toast rack debate, I couldn't make my own mind up after all! [&:] However I'm curious to know how you plan to use the 931 badge panel, are you just using the vents or doing what Rick did on his?

I would keep the original rear lower air dam on an S2 or `turbo as its designed to give some downforce (or reduce lift) at speed.
Air spoilers on Porsches are not just there for show like they are on many cars!

I'm (just on a break) trying to achieve what Rick has. Plenty of cutting and shutting so far but I think I'm nearly there. My badge panel was a used on and I think a new one would be easier. There's quite a few places that need trimming back to make it fit - the ends, the bits that the vents clip into, the lower return flange...

TBH, I didn't know these needed changing?! I'm assuming that you mean Rick did this on his? I've got a pretty decent fit with my existing headlamp covers which I'm happy with (unless they are cheap whcih I can't imagine[;)])

Somebody said you could just buy the plastic vents from the OPC as I fancied the cutting hole in the turbo option but I cannot find them in the PET. Anyone know?

I can't help but want this:

Would it cost that much more to get a proper job on a 944 panel, rather than fettling a 931 panel?

That is nice. Not sure about costs. Assuming you can buy the plastic vents then cutting holes and installing the vents is far simpler than fettling with something that is the wrong shape, most likely the wrong colour, and requires the parts of the car to be modified for it to fit. The biggest problem of making th 924 part fit is that because the panel is physically thinner than the 951/S2 part you get a gap between the rear edge of the bumper and the front edge of the badge panel. If I recall correctly Rick coverd this up using a flat piece of plastic. Though he did a very good job to make a nice neat job of it you can still see the plastic as it creates a step and it just doesn't look like it is supposed to be there.

The headamp covers are a subtly different shape, so you'll want to change them to get good panel gaps.

As for as the 924 vents, I was under the impression they are no longer available new [:(] (I'd buy a few for spares if they were)

Mmmm, I might give a few OPC's a call then as often they have their own stashes of bits lying around their own stores. Anyone know the part number?
