Whilst at Specialist cars this morning I got talking to Simon who runs TIPEC for the Northeast and they are having a run out to Toms next Sunday for 10am, does anyone fancy a run along for a couple of hours in the morning?

I thought we could meet at the Dunn Cow (where we meet for our monthly meets) at 9.30am and have a run over, he moved to new premises not so long ago, its only at Gateshead, have a look at his site.........

Stick a line on here if you fancy it [:D]

Cheers

We are going for Sunday lunch afterwards and then a run out towards Holy Island (weather permitting).

If you would like to join us, please let me know so that I can book at the pub.

Cheers,

Simon

Thanks Simon [;)] I will just be coming down to see Toms place, can't comment for everyone else.

Come on there must be more than two of us!!

I would like to come but we're out Sat night so depends how soon we can get up! Hope to see you there

Hi Nick, put me down for the visit, keep meaning to pop along to see his new place.
See you at the Dunn Cow.

Nick,
I should be OK to attend, however not 100% sure at this point. If I'm not there by 09.30, please don't delay the start.

Hi Nick
Hope you had a good holiday. Got a busy weekend and it's a bit short notice, so not sure if I can make it but I'll try. Like Chris said, don't wait for me. I know Simon was only joking but we'll ignore the 'riff raff' jibe seeing as we're trying to dispel that myth, not perpetuate it!!
Regards
Alan

Remember the clocks go back on Saturday night (well early hours of Sunday actually) so those of you out on the lash will have an extra hour in bed anyway[;)]

Alan, my comment was made with my tongue very firmly in my cheek!
We are all Porsche enthusiasts no matter which club we are in.

Been meaning to call round at Toms so tomorrow is an ideal opportunity. I will go straight there as im in Nx anyway.

Yes I know, Simon. Well said.
I'm sorry I have not been able to make it today. The weather looks gorgeous, so hope you have had a great time.
Regards
Alan

I had a great morning, Toms got some nice bits of kit in (1973 911RS mmmmmm[;)]) he was very friendly and his stories of what working for Porsche used to be like (all good I might add) were very entertaining.

He made a point of saying if any one in the club (ours or tipec of course) was ever stumped with a problem with their Porsches he was just a phone call away and quite happy to give advice over the phone [:D], Ash and I picked his brains quite a bit on the subject of little problems with our 944S2's and his advice was excellent.

We must make the effort to visit him in greater numbers next year as part of a run out.

Thanks for joining us this morning, I think Tom was pleasantly surprised by how good the attendance and interest was.

I now understand why Tom's son's Nissan Pulsar race car is so rapid and pulled away from the ex-BTCC Seat Leon on the straights at Croft a few weeks back, 560 BHP and 500 lb/ft of torque in a car that weighs not a lot!

If you do visit Tom next year, we can recommend the pub behind his place for lunch too. Excellent value!

Can't speak highly enough about Tom. He spent loads of time showing me how to strip my 911 gearbox down. He didn't even laugh when I fitted my brake callipers on the wrong side and hence upside down.
