Just noticed you say you have an S2 but I see Mike has posted what needs to be done to the turbo style valance, as for the bumper, no adjustsments needed but it will stand proud of the body by the thickness of the cross member.

Just taken mine off today as it happens.

Just for reference this is how much of a toast rack valance needs to be removed

 
Is that a toast rack? looks more like a valance.

MB A9XXC is now on the 2.7 with the valance and the toast rack is now A748YOV and has been sold!
 
Yep thats what I class as a toast rack / valance at least, chances are that now I have mine off I'll leave it like that til I can find a turbo style one ( I know its not an original option but I do prefer the less fussy look of the turbo one
 
I do hate changing how the car originally came out of the showroom, but that picture of your 2 together Mike kind of makes my mind up [;)] And as an optional add on for that year I can justify it [:D]
 
All good stuff guys, Paul did you take your towbar off? and if so do you still have it and is it perhaps for sale?


 
Guys, You are aware there are two types of towbar?

The one shown is for late cars, with the Turbo style valance (it also has a brace which goes to the underside of the spare wheel well. There is another which is for early cars... Either will fit one either car, it just means the valence doesn't... Stupidly, I had a late towbar on my early car, and now have an early towbar on my S2. I have now aquired a proper S2 towbar for my S2, so at some stage will find out if it does fit without hacking up the valance. At the moment, the right hand half of the valance has been left off.

I doubt the early towbar would clear a toastrack spoiler though.

I've still got the cross bar, was going to throw it up on ebay but I don't know what other bits you'd need to make it work
 
I do have the S2 one here, as well as the early type fitted to teh car, so I'll see if I can get a picture taken tomorrow.

I believe both are... I think it is "Witter" - it is the company in Park Street, St Albans anyway.
 
If you look at the pics of the rear of my car you will see the position of the 2 bolts that would hold the brace to the spare tyre well, something I have yet to remove, just looking for the right sized bungs to put in there once I remove the bolts.

As mentioned I only have the cross member, but you can have it for the cost of postage, which with a courier should be around £12 -15
