TPM sensors

In this case I think it's fair enough as I had my tyres changed outside of OPC network and it only started happening from that point on.

Is ok at the moment (touch wood !) but not sure it has actually solved the problem yet, will let you know in a couple of weeks. If not, then I'm confident OPC will persue it for me as can't then be down to damage caused while changing the tyres.

Cheers,

....that alone was worth the £140 [:D][:D]

As long as you are happy...

I wouldn't be happy! A day or so in a Boxter isn't worth £140 to me!

250 miles and a track day later mine is still "Learning"

I will book mine in on the assumption that it is covered by the Porsche Extended Warranty.

Cheers

If it is the receiver on the car you will probably be covered. However, if it the pressure transmitter in the wheel those are maintenance items [&:] and as such may not be included.

It would be unusual and extremely unlucky for all four transmitters to fail simultaneously so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I have had a word with several other owners and no one seems to have had or heard of this particular problem before. Everyone agrees that it sounds expensive!

Car goes in next week I will advise results.

Cheers

Gen2 PDK Turbo seems the common result at the moment......[;)]

Thanks for your optimism Gary!!

This one is going fine thanks even quicker than during your Normandy beaches trip last year, at 19,000 miles it is only just run in.

Anyway I would like to see the new "998" and probably wait for the Turbo as buying new now and then being tempted again later could be expensive!

Cheers

Still ok so far...seems it's done the trick.

Actually, Boxster was free as it was £140 to fix the TPM issue [8D]

Well it will be interesting to see the price of the turbo when it eventually hits the streets. I suspect a significant hike..[&:]

Shows how valuable I am as a customer!!

I have been given a Mini demonstrator with an engine that stops every time I take the car out of gear and release the clutch!! With our nose to tail traffic I hope the battery is in good condition. It does start again when you engage the clutch but the starter motor is quite loud and sounds as if it is losing its puff!

I collect the car this evening after investigation and have been given no details except to bring it back in a weeks time for a new part.

Maybe because you are a valued customer but they read this thread and saw you wouldn't be happy with a Boxster [:D]

Good luck with the fix, those pesky yellow warning lights are very annoying !

I'm pleased to see that Porsche Jersey are taking their eco responsibilities seriously when supplying courtesy cars!:ROFLMAO:

Sorry to be so late reporting back but I was waiting for a bit of feed back from Dealer.

(Loan car thsi time was some sort of BMW thing but at least it didn't keep stopping)

Contrary to what I was originally told it was not "the main sensor" The right rear had always displayed .1 or .2 bar higher than the left when both tyres were correctly inflated by the same guage but I never really worried about it. However as reported I lost the whole display andf the nasty red light came on. Anyway the right rear sensor was replaced and all seems well although during this week it has taken a while for the display to show anything but thankfully no red light. I was not asked for any money so presumably it is covered by the extended warranty therefore it seems that I get no paperwork showing exactly what was done!

Must get back on the forum more often but particularly rushed at work at the moment, hopefully it will quieten down in June.

PS Alan we need you here desperately, I have been waiting nearly 2 months to get an IRE to renew my MEPIR

Cheers

Thanks for the update Michael, glad it's all sorted now.

Still not a peep from my TPM either since I had the sensor changed.
