TPMS Service Kits - UPDATE!

Some more info on TPMS at National.....they do a service from £6. Not sure what this entails. Chris - did you have any OBC issues with syncing with the aftermarket sensors? Also, how did you get the old weights off without scratching the rim please? Was there any residue of the "glue" left? Thanks

No issues pairing - system took a 20 min or so drive and then the dash cleared. Removal of the weights was easy - sprayed them liberally with Tar Ox (detailing spray used to remove tar from body work) left for 10 mins to soak & then gently eased them off with a plastic windscreen ice scraper. Left some adhesive on the rim which I just sprayed again and wiped off with a cloth.

Further Update - not good news...... I have done no real driving since these were fitted and a few days ago the dash is showing an error and it appears that the pairing has failed and now will not re-pair at all. I have now obtained the OEM sensors from the supplier of the aftermarket one's (they have been very good and very helpful) and I am going to get these fitted in the next week of so. Watch this space.........

OEM sensors fitted at ATS yesterday and all paired within a couple of miles. It seems as though the aftermarket ones have some compatibility issues with the early TPMS system fitted to my Gen. 1 Cayman and I suspect this may well be the case with similar aged other models. The good news is that the OEM Huf (Beru) are the way to go. The supplier in the earlier post in this thread have been very helpful in resolving this problem and I would recommend them if people are in the position of needing new TPM sensors. They are £78.75 plus VAT each which works out at £94.50 per wheel plus fitting which is considerably cheaper than the £228.55 plus fitting that OPC wanted.
