track day

ORIGINAL: kennyboy

Thanks boys - she is a beauty isn't she. I daren't take her out since Glyn waxed her.....scared that the zymol falls off or something! Since I've got all the little bits sorted and the detailing done I just sit and stare.... but then I remember there's pleasure to be had driving too!

Lee you should have an email from a photo share website - I've uploaded quite a few pictures on to there, not sure if there's a way of adding a few to pcgb forum? could add your email also Alasdair? - I basically want the world to see her beauty!

Alasdair will you be Elvington on the 1st? - would look forward to hearing your gorgeous carrera at full chat on the straight!

I know what you mean about daunting - not been on a track before and I can imagine me constantly looking in the rear view mirror to keep out of the way, anyway will see how it goes.

I do like how the 4's require less concentration in the wet but ultimately the purer the better for me so a 2 would be a preference. the 996 was a lovely car at the right price and it just so happened to be a 4. and i've been after a 993 S ever since really - if they did a 2S with turbo suspension and brakes that would be ideal.

See you Thursday Lee - I think I'll bring my camera, it's not every day you see a pastel yellow 993S sat alongside a grand prix white S - not in sunny Yorkshire anyway!

Thanks for the reminder about the camera. Should be good. The yellow peril is in Strasse as we speak for two front tyres and the Dansk mufflers. I mentioned meeting you and they think your car car looks the dogs whatsits too.

See you tomorrow.

aah, I bet they say that to all us boys!

I'm sure they do - I can't imagine they'd get too much repeat business telling all their customers that their cars look like a bag of spanners!

Still, in Kenny's case I'm sure they're right.

Glyn is doing the full Zymol works on mine on Saturday :)

I didn't know about Elvington on the 1st until I read it here. For a track day i would prefer the more interesting circuits but I may well follow Tracey's lead and enquire about some tuition there, as it's only 15-20 mins up the road from me (and it's a cracking road!). Depending what I'm doing I may pop up and say Hello if spectators are allowed.

Here are a few more shots from V.Max on Sunday

Fantastic - hope to see it for real at Elvington, I hope to go a spectator too.

PS - fotango.com looks good, I'm using now too.

Nice one Lee - they make a good couple eh? Seeing your car in my rear view mirror on the way back was a sight, it looked like it wanted to take to the sky's at any moment! brilliant. see what you mean about your phone too.

Message from my fiance: 'oh so your new porsche chum is obsessed too - even though they've got a new baby! I hope you aren't going to be like that, now come on and help me with this wedding planning'.

ha ha so I better be off - but I'll be leaving the forum page open for the rest of the night of course.

I'm saying nothing. It sounds like I am in enough trouble with your better half as it is. Anyway, babies are great but despite making plenty of noise, it's not quite the same sound as an air cooled flat six!

It is the cross we have to bear for our passion Lee ... they just don't understand.

I think we need to get them all out into Leeds shopping so that they can sympathise with each other whilst we are left forlornly to our own devices [;)]

Talking of which ... would you two be interested in the ocassional early morning run with maybe 4 or 5 other like minded souls ... but I do mean early, they're not called dawn raids for nothing. 6am on a Sunday morning across some of East & North Yorkshire's finest open, empty roads ... a couple of hours hooning finishing with a breakfast stop then usually home by 9.30-10.00.

Let me know.

Certainly would. With a little boy born Christmas Eve I am getting used to early mornings! Besides, that doesn't eat in to the day too much so I am more likely to get a pass out.

Make a suggestion but I am pretty sure you can count me in.

Next one will probably just after Easter. I'll email you off line with the details.

Although as you can see, we don't shy away from inclement weather ... it's a whole lot nicer when the weather's nice!

Quite good for avoiding speed camera detection though [:D]

Whereabouts are you Lee? and which side of Leeds are you Kenny. We meet a few miles East of the A1 so that we are straight into the open country.

I'm North East Leeds so perfect...

Better than north west but a bit of a pain for you getting east on M62, but one of the usual guys comes over from that area so it must be worth it :)

I have sent you guys separate emails.
