Tracker Advice Please

Some minor benefit’s of the inbuilt Tracker that you can manage it via the Porsche Connect app. You can apply a geofence to be alerted if the car is driven outside of the identified are. You can turn off the tracker for servicing or if the car is being transported. You can also be alerted if the car is driven faster than a predefined speed. You also can use it to locate your car (car parks etc) Also if door is not shut or if the car is locked or not. It does work and Vodafone provide a good service. They have phoned me a few times as I did not have the dongle or I had jacked up the car and did not turn of the tracker. It my not be the cheapest Tracker but it works and you get good service.

Not sure about the geo fence or speed fence warnings. It simply logs the breach within the app and doesn’t send an alert by text or email.

l get alerts on my iPhone home screen and iWatch. I use the geofence feature all the time (you can adjust the area of the geofence, so as soon the car drives of the driveway and back on the driveway I get an alert). I can track the car in real time when the car is being serviced. Once l even challenged the service manager why my car was went out for a drive and over the limit whilst the car was in for something totally unrelated. You can image he was very sheepish regarding the insident. ??

OK l refer the notifications as being an alert. On the iPhone go to Setting > Scroll down to Porsche ’Connect‘ open it and activate the notifications to ON, plus activate the Sounds and Badges.

I've just picked up a 911, 991.1 Carrera 4S. It's a great car, but there's one little niggle; the previous owner had a tracker fitted, so when the car's ignition is turned on the display shows a yellow warning icon. Moving the info. stalk forward Makes it smaller & moves it to the bottom of the display, so it's no big deal, but apparently it can only be switched off by a Porsche dealer. Or subscribe to the tracking service, which I'm not interested in doing.

I was wondering if there's some other means of getting the blasted thing to disappear? Any help would be much appreciated!
