Trivial question that's buggin me - rear model designation

ORIGINAL: Chris5150

Badge every time indeed...never really understood debadging at all. Just always makes me think people do it to try and pretend the car is a better/higher priced model or whatever. Dont care what car I drove, the badges would be left on, If I see a 5 series BMW debadged for example I just presume its a 520 basic model,it seems its only the lowly models in the ranges that are debadged.

Ref my debadged 318d, with a badge on every one knows what it is. De-badged most people assume it's a 320d as they didn't know that BMW built such a slow car as a 318 d these days. Everyones a winner. The tippex on the V5 looks messy though.

Yup I agree - I love the turbo wheels with the aerokit - but then Im very biased on that front[:)]

Each to their own when it comes to wheels though I think and for every person who loves a particular wheel there is another who hates them - everybody has their own favourite and I cant really see any particular wheel having a superior value private or trade.

18"s are prob bad news come resale, but thats about it. Go for whichever floats your boat - there is only £550 between the cheapest and most expensive choice anyway.

Turbos for me though 100%.

I remember some interesting stats on de-badged cars from some years back (probably in Autocar or something!)

In Germany the higher spec models tend to be the de-badged ones as people are being modest.
In the UK the lower spec ones are debadged as people done't want others to know they bought the cheap car.

I think this was a BMW article...

For me it's got to have a badge, it's the first thing that catches my eye when I open the garage door, and it still gives me a little adrenaline kick each time.

Just did the bank transfer and confirmed that I wanted the badge fitted, thanks for the input. Car will be sorted and ready for mid next week when the plate transfer admin is finished.

Now I have to decide if Paintshield is worth it, no chips at all right now. Do I spend out on a PaintSheild protection for piece of mind ? Anyone here bothered ?
