Turbo S lightweight wheels..

Tim,

you do not really need 30mm on the rear, the rear track with these wheels is fine on both Turbos and S2's. Remember the mag wheels are 9" so the extra width will make up some of the difference lost in offset.

The front track of the Turbo S & SE (M030) is slightly greater at the front as the lower wishbones are spec'd differently. Again, the front track looked ok on my S2 with these wheels on.

My opinion chaps for what its worth.

Tim is right concerning spacers/offsets.
I once fitted CS rims to a '90 turbo and the rear track was of course narrower because of their bigger offset than the original D90's. On the drive there was certainly even less understeer but it did not feel "right", not to mention it looked ugly with the wheels further inside the wheels arches.

PS : the only magnesium wheels are the original "teledial" rims of the '87 -> '90 Turbo Cup (8" front / 9" rear).
That the CS rims are "magnesium wheels" is an urban myth.

Just to clarify, I have fitted the CS's to my '88 S with no spacers yet, but using one of the calculation tools on the web those are the figures I got. I must say also that the fronts do look too far in for me and it doesn't seem to like the speed bumps as much as it did on teledials, so I will fit something like 10mm - 13mm spacers on the front when I get round to it.

As far as the rear is concerned, all seems ok with no spacer, but it does need something just to bring them out a bit (looks a bit narrow from the rear). 30mm is a bit extreme I admit, so I'll probably use something like 13mm - 21mm, again when I get arse in gear;-)

Still look good though;-))
