Lol, I was thinking along the same lines (but not about hacking yours to bits []). I bet the reserve is just over ÂŁ6k, but I doubt the auction will go that high on ebay.

have to say I'm tempted....anyone fancy a red 250 turbo? []
I am too....anyone fancy a blue 400 turbo? []
It does look nice, and it places a value on mine:
It's very similar, the yellow one being more stripped out and having a cage and some recorded gearbox work. Then again mine has had loads of remedial work in literally everything except the gearbox (all bushes, rear beam mounts, etc. etc. which this one may or may not have had. Biggest off-put to me is the "no-name" suspension; I'd want to know what it is if I were interested (mine is KW v3 plus Weltmeister ARBs).
Bottom line though it that if he gets his money (it's up for ÂŁ6,495 on PH which I'd guess is more than a clue to the eBay reserve) I wouldn't expect to get any more for mine, which basically confirms I won't be selling it, in the short term at least. To be fair with the time of year and state of the economy I wouldn't even try just now; I bet it would got for ÂŁ2k+ more in spring with the sun shining and the mood of the world more optimistic.

Here's a reply I got from the seller
"Belts were done about 2.5 years ago - about 10k miles approx.
Waterpump - Not sure, not whilst I have had the car.
Clutch, This year - Brand new virtually.
Suspension - New Koni adjustable front and rear shocks, new front springs (220lb) with adjustable platforms
Body - any rust has been taken care of new sill panels (new metal not filled) as required - Standard glass
Seats on runners, although limited movement on passenger seat due to fire extinguisher which is plumbed in.
Std Turbo gearbox and internals, standard Porsche LSD
Link originally set up by Thor Racing, but I have done most of it as the trigger / speed sensors have been completely replaced with a bespoke system from Australia which is infinitely better - MAP sensor
Wide band O2 sensor and gauge, oil pressure is standard, no oil temperature gauge
Gearbox rebuild was done through a local firm who are Aston specialists that I use, top end rebuild was done by Addspeed Engineering and Sussex Performance Centre"
Fancy going halves Paul? []

This car sounds better and better, I'd imagine it could do with some firmer suspension and a few more toys, but other than that it seems pretty well sorted.
Fancy going thirds? []

I'm having a serious think....Easy enough to transfer the Leda suspension over from my car, and I have some f/g panels ready to go....
Peter - you cannot be serious ! [] - not when yours is so nearly ready......could be a nice stop gap though.
I really ought to sell one of my cars before I buy another - the Integra is up for sale here: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/727451.htm
- anyone fancy a change to FWD?

What about air-con? Any additional cooling (oil or water)? Suspension will not be up to the job of such a focussed car.
I'd be surprised if the a/c is still there - I didn't ask. I also don't know what turbo it's running (I'm guessing 26/8)
My suspension would work quite well in that car []
Anyone seriously interested in a share of this car - pm or email me.
I agree - on both counts.
There is more to taking out the a/c than just degassing it and unbolting the compressor however. Did the current owner buy it like that (in which case it may have all sorts of little goodies that he simply doesn't know about) or did he get it done (in which case he should know the detail, but not having replaced the water pump doesn't suggest it was as comprehensive as it might have been).
All-up it's probably been done right and hence is worth the money (and then some) if it's in good condition as it would cost more than he's asking for it to get a standard one to that spec, but you still need to know what hasn't been done. Off the top of my head:

- There's no mention of the turbo so what is it? Surely not the original K26/6?
- Is the Link G2 any good? I'm not hinting that it isn't, but Link has a bad name in the 944 community via an earlier product, and ask John Sims about Thor...
- Has the engine had any work done or is it a 170k engine unopened? Not necessarily a timebomb if it is, but it's going to be worn if it hasn't been rebuilt and it only mentions the top end.
- Which Lindsey intercooler? Can't be stage 5 as that doesn't fit under the standard badge panel, so it's 1 or 2. Although I had a stage 2 I wouldn't bother again.
- Lindsey DPW - you pays your money, but it wouldn't be my choice. In fact Lindsey generally; I have had a lot of Lindsey stuff and eventually stopped buying it as most of it nearly fits, which a lot of the time is just as hard to get working as something that was never meant to fit, but a lot more frustrating. Not especially relevant as it's already fitted, but I also have formed the opinion that Lindsey stuff is perhaps less exactingly engineered as some competitor products.
- Variable boost how? Shouldn't the Link take care of boost control?
- It's a 220 car, so how are the Big Blacks fitted, adaptor plates or later hubs? If the former then again you pays you money, and again ask John Sims about the solution. Also if the former then the Cup 1s are replicas and will weigh 3/4 tonne each.

Peter is just having boost envy []
How's the SC kit coming?
Just gathering dust at the moment []
Funnily enough I have been trying to get some oil for the SC recently and it's a nightmare. Nowhere in the UK has the genuine Procharger stuff (which is supposed to be unique...) or will supply it (fair enough, it's a small market) but none of the American firms (including the manufacturer) seem interested either.
Ed, I wish I was really serious, if it was earlier in the year then I may have been up for it (particularly if it could be used comptetively in the long term), but now I'm getting ready for the final expense of the white car coming home (just in time to tuck it away somewhere till the sun comes out [8|]).
Is it the same stuff as Eaton S/Cs use? I've read about it on Mini2.com and remember it's expensive, but I think it's available.

All good points Fen - I don't know any more for now...
