I've had mixed results with Rain-X. My experience is that the wipers no longer wipe the water away, but they just sort of smear it across creating zillions of tiny water beads across the entire window. Rain-X has worked wonders at high speed when the rain is pouring and it just streams off the windows, but I've found that the normal British rain spit'n'drizzle + road grime at 30-60mph circumvents the technology (esp at this time of year)...
I prefer the water beading as a result of washing normally with Autoglymns Bodywash shampoo... water beads, but it also wipes off streak free - drizzle or torrential downpours.
