Tyre Wear

Bought my 2012 m/y 3.0 Diesel at 80k miles that had run 2 sets of Pirelli Scorpion Verde 275/45R20 for 40k miles each. After buying the car I fitted another set. Happy so far but I don't work them hard so can't comment on off road capability etc.
 
I have nothing but positive comments on Pirelli Scorpion Verdes, got rid of continentals on my Wife's Evoque and fitted Verdes, good road holding all conditions and quiet.

Ditto re pirelli scorpion all season tyres, on 4x4 , no need for winter tyres. My experience of 16k miles seems acceptable to me for such an excellent all year round tyre pity they don't do it for 21" porsche size. My only experience of Contis was on a 911 turbo and wear rate was horrendous at between 3800 and 4300 miles on the rears. Brigdstones were at least twice that. Regarding the earlier comment about don't get a diesel, euro 6 compare well with petrol on NO2 now and produce less CO2 and are more economical , their torque really suits an suv, so I doubt that modern diesels will be eradicated.
 
Hi looking at the link provided the pirelli scorpion Verde all season are on the list for cayenne 20" wheels also scorpion winters are listed.

Approved tyre list is interesting. I've got some Scorpion 18' Winters on at present, but the summer wheels are 21's and I'll need new rubber, they've currently got Yoko's on.

Mine is is a 2014 3l diesel Platinum, so pre facelift. Looking at the list from the link my model has the choice of Michelin's, Pirelli's or Yoko's, all N1 approvals. But if you look at the 2015 facelift model, same size wheels and tyres, the Pirelli is not listed and the Michelin and Yoko are different to the pre facelift ones. Is the facelift really that different it needs different tyre approvals? I know it has a bit more power and grunt (17 ps and 30 Nm I think), but the same tyres on mine can apparently be fitted to the pre face Turbo's!!

So as i'm still 'Porsche Approved' if i happened to fit the later tyres, whilst they are still N rated I guess that could make it invalid! I know I have to get N rated, but hadn't realised Porsche had added the additional twist!!! Naively i thought a tyre of the right size with an N rating would be alright.
 
N rating and how it affects "insurance" & "warranty" has been debated at length and ad nauseum on many a forum including this one .. its a bit like milk into tea before hot water or after
 
I am running Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow Swiss Spec .
I cross the Jura often in winter and have no problems.
I did not realise untill i bought Swiss Scorpions that there are different specs
depending on where you are going to use them .The wear rate is unbelievably low on mine.
I believe you can get the higher spec Scorpions in My Tryes in UK ?
