I’ve gone through the lengthy tyre thread in the technical forum but it’s quite old now. My 981 has 20” wheels and is fitted with N1 PZeros. I’ll need a new set soon - I know absolutely nothing about tyres, but want to make sure I’m complying with the Porsche extended warranty. Can I fit any N rated tyre? I’d appreciate any recommendations. My main priority is longevity - I don’t do track days. Much obliged
Damian
Porsche specify you should fit tyres from the same manufacturer and with the same N rating all round.

Yes, perhaps surprisingly, I got them from Teesside OPC. They as good as matched the best price I could get and I felt that I got a better end result.
I probably wouldn’t have thought of them had my car not been going in for a service but I do have a lot of time for Tim and his crew.
Certainly worth a try; have a look at prices online to get an idea - but remember all the add-ons, not to mention extra hassle involved in some cases.
Best of luck!
Gordon.
Having said that most if not all OPCs are perfectly happy if you fit an N rated tyre that is suitable.
The excellent Michelin PS4S tyre is an approved fitment for the 718 (982), but is not actually approved for the 981. However I dont see any one objecting to you fitting the PS4S N0 to your car as it will be an improvement upon the Pirellis.
The OPC is often a very price competitive place to get tyres; Leeds, who are in the same group as Teeside, have been great value in the past. Another advantage of getting the tyres at the OPC is there can be no argument about the tyres being suitable or wrongly fitted.

Hope that helps
I run Cup2s in the spring/summer and PS4Ss in the autumn/winter.

While you’re on, in what way are the Michelins superior to the P Zeros? I know nothing about tyres.
Cheers Damian
The Michelin PS4S N0 is a hugely impressive tyre with great grip and feel, and yet has a decent ride and it quite quiet for that type of tyre. Wet grip is excellent except in lower temperatures (below 10°)until fully warm but this is the case for all ultra high performance tyres.
Some people will tell you that the Pirelli P-Zero is an awful tyre, which as you've run them quite happily is clearly not the case. Earlier P-Zeros were quite grim but the later versions (the N1) are much improved. The Pirelli is noisier and harsher riding that the Michelin and doesn't have the same great feel or feedback.
looks like you have the info you need from the posts above , I would add that I’ve never rated Pirelli on Porsches and avoided them in the past HOWEVER my 718 Boxster T model 3 years ago came with them and they were surprisingly an excellent tyre - a huge improvement IMO over previous generations I got 20k miles out of them and about 5 track days
I did swap to Michelin PS4S when it came to change as I still feel Michelin area superior product and I could feel better driving dynamics but it’s marginal - thought you may be interested to hear some real world experience of these as the Pirelli are probably lesser cost I would guess
Tony
In all honesty, I think Pirelli had to do something with the previous gen P-Zero as the Michellin PS4S was wiping the floor with them.
My only gripe is the lack of rim protection on the 10.5 wide 20 inch alloys on the GTS. Some on Rennlist have changed to 295s on the rear to allow for more rim protection.
