Tyres - current favourites?

While we're on the subject of tires and to avoid opening up a fresh thread

What would the lowest profile tyre for 15" teledials be with out losing too much ride comfort? Currently got original style 65 profiles on there which just look massive...

Hmm, Toyo T1R? I've been recommended them too. Might be worth a big buy then, if we can get a decent deal for 8!

Camskill have got them in all sizes for £75 a corner.

Just checked and you are right. I got my rears last year for £70 each and my fronts last month for £75 each. The rears must have shot up in price.

If I remember correctly my rears were from a dealer down south who had ordered a set in and got stuck with them.

The fronts were from Camskill last month. Can't believe they are £30 dearer than the front ones!

I'm on TOYO T1'R's all round at 32PSI and you have to be quite ham fisted even in the wet to get it to step out.

Suspension is lowered and fresh however with new GAZ, poly's at the front, 968 castors and ARB supports.

Tyres can only do so much before the rest of the suspension comes into play.

thats a good point Stuart. A lot of our cars are running on 20+ year old suspension componants that probably need replacing or upgrading. Did anyone see the G reg S2 on Top Gear being driven around the track by Jeremy ? I thought he was definitely going to roll it at some point as the car rolled around like a Reliant 3x wheeler
