Thanks for all your help - especially to Rodney.
Went to the tyre place in Dudden Hill Road - Wembley Tyres.
They took off the tyre, checked it, found a nail, repaired the tyre and advised that the rear tyres were good for 3,000 - 5,000 miles. They also visually checked all the other tyres and fitted a better valve cap. Made no attempt to sell me a new tyre [I wouldn't have known any better] and told me to return in 4,000 miles' time and I would get a good deal on 2 new rear tyres. And the total cost = £20.00 [
], instead of two new tyres totalling, I suppose, about £500.00.
I fear that the other tyre fitters [well known for their blue and yellow signs and songs about speed] and an OPC would not have done any better or offered a superior service.
You can guess where I will be getting my tyres from in future and I recommend them highly. Just mention Rodney's name, as I did - they seemed to know him!!
