Tom.

You don't say where in Scotland you live, as there are thousands of tyre dealers about .I stay in East -Kilbride and bought a set of Conti -Sports from a local dealer for my 993.So more information is needed .I did notice in your profile that you state you are a Millionaire Adventurer so why are you looking for the cheapest place ...or is this why you are a Millionare[:D][:D]

Brian

Try Jim Dickson in Cumbernauld - a lot of people go there because he knows how to take car of your wheels and does prices not far off the on-line places, his phone number is:
01236 720205

As Del Boy say's This time next year we'll be millionares if only ! I would contact local dealers for there best deal ,you will have to decide what make you want ,I think you need N rated Happy hunting

For years now I have used Turriff Tyres, madness I know cos they are anything but local to me, but they are a family run business, and I have always found them extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and cheap.

The man you want is Jim Kinsella (or his son Julian), Turriff Tyres, 01888 562929

Say hello for me [;)]

I've used Julian at Turriff Tyres too...they are reasonable and take good care of your rims.

Recently I've been using Checkpoint in Aberdeen.
You could give them a call...ask for Dave, he always sorts me out a decent deal.
They have superb fitting and balancing equipment and I've never once had so much as a hint of damage from their fitting....and I'm fussy!

Thanks

Tried all three and its not happening.
Will need to replace both rear tyres with something else, resort to public transport and it'll be spam for christmas dinner!

As a stop gap until Michelin receive their stock, there is one listed on eBay:

Try performance tyres in Glasgow 0141 9549344 or Costco in Edinburgh or Glasgow who will order in any Michelin and can get it by Fri £214 (+ vat)

Allison I read your post on the dark side and if the OPC cant help you out and Porsche assist I would buy the one off ebay .

You could try calling Dave Blackley at Elite Garages (who also advertise in Porsche Post and sponsor the club a fair bit).

They are based waaaaaayyyyyy down south from you (too far!), but are a distributor so have contacts all over the country.

He found me a tyre when all the normal channels were out of stock (including the manufacturer).

Can't hurt to try [;)]

Thanks Guys, but all avenues have failed and no tyre to be found anywhere.

Porsche have come good though and are helping me out, so no worries. Car is parked up at Edinburgh OPC, and they are going to put 4 same brand (Pirelli's I think) of an equal rating on the car. Should have her back in time for xmas. Porsche Assist in the meantime have arranged for me to have a 3 Series to play about in.

some good does come of the Porsche Assistance after all.

Have a great xmas everyone.
