Unwanted attention when you got a 944?

I've found that it is completely the opposite with the TVR I've had people giving the thumbs up, yelling nice car mate, and the only tail gating was someone in a van taking photos of it on a camera phone, it gets a lot of admiring glances too which I find odd considering how noisy it is.
Although my S2 had it's fair share of admiring glances when I had finished it but it also attracted a lot of negative attention to possibly due to it being red and me being so young too.

When I had my WRC blue Scooby I drove it with extreme courtesey, something that completely dysfunctioned a lot of people, especially when I would slow to let them out to overtake on dual carriageways. It was actually good fun, I try and do the same in the '44

Been following this thread and I am amazed at reactions quoted above.

I`ll have to say my Leinen Metallic (Silver) Turbo had no issues whatsoever. Admittedly some reasonable cars tried it on but I never had any issues anywhere with chavscum, in fact youngsters used to wave and shout "nice car mate" and garage attendants etc always commented on it favourably. If anyone was right up my chuff I never used it to its potential after an M3 nearly lost it in a serious way following me around a dual carriageway bend at some considerable speed and an Audi sporty estatey thingy spun at a roundabout (without issue luckily) so after that I used to let them go if they were pressing me as it was safer (for them [;)])

In fact I`ve never had issues with anyone in any cars I`ve owned apart from chavscum occasionally shouting w*nk*r when I had the Westy.

Isnt envy a dreadful thing [&o][&o]

Odd one this, my old red S2 did get plenty of wanna race type nonsense several years back, this seemed to tail off over the past few years as I guess most ppl are not too sure what it is any more. Silver 968 gets plenty of looks and the occasional nice comment but that is all. The red thing does look true but IMHE the unwanted attention thing is nothing like as bad as it was.

I wonder if the colour makes a difference? Not to worry: if I swap to a Guards Red car then my opaque plastic hatch will be moving too, so I wont be able to see them misbehaving... [:D]

My daily driver is a '01 Mondeo Estate TDDi in a slatey grey/blue type colour (dont know - dont care) I am totally invisable to other road users...!

When I drive the 944 I get nothing but courtesey and admiring glances. The young fellas in Civics, Golf TDis and A4s all slow up to do a second take. Mine is gold(Almond Beige LY1Y) but, and its rare to see even another gold car nowadays !

mostly positive......daily driver is a greyish focus and I haven't noticed a difference in the number of people stuck up my arse........there's always someone whatever car you drive.

I had some grief from white van man the other week on the M25. It's funny because my old Lux is one of the cheapest cars I've ever bought - I suppose that most members of the general public see a Porsche and automatically think it's expensive.

Interesting to maybe consider colour of car and age of driver? I'm 50+, bespectacled, grey receding and can't really recall any unwanted grief in my red S.2 in the past 5 years. If I was 20, I think it may well be different.

I have had on 2 ocassions, small boys musing whether it was a Porsche or a Ferrari and once, an old lady came into the pub saying someone with a Ferrari had left their lights on. Maybe the 308 in the reg confused them a bit? [8|]

My LED sidelight/indicators seem to get approving looks from the Chavs :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
