Update - Classic Le Mans

Waste of time - lot of effort and could lead to some bad feelings. Best way is just agree crossings (out more important than in) and let people book themselves.

I assume the cabin is per car and not one for all of us - I quite fancy this travelling together thing but don't want to be too cosy!

Cabin is per car . . . they are compulsory for overnight crossings (think you can pre book a chair to sleep in instead of a cabin . . . but this will be your last chance to have a shower for a few days if camping []).

Group cabin . . . . probably not a good idea, I fart in my sleep.

Put me on the list for the ferry and happy to send a cheque to Phil. I would probably not want to particaipate in a convoy, it does slow progress down enormously even if not travelling at illegal sppeds.

I don't know, the showers at maison blanche were quite good last year

There is a small group of us (4*911 cars) going via the chunnel on the Thursday (6/7) lunchtime.

Booking a hotel wasn't easy though. The event has become very popular and it was difficult in finding availability. I suspect the camp site might end up being the only option for anyone who leaves booking too late.

I'm very keen to attend next year's Le Mans Classic but have been waiting for the official PCGB notification and booking form which I'm led to believe will come out in Dec/Jan, may I missing something here?

Never-the-less, as I'm located in London I normally travel abroad via the Chunnel, so if I do get my bookings in I'd like to hook you with you guy's if possible

Doh -date brought forward from 2004 so I won't be able to include as part of my summer hols!![]

"I'd like to hook you with you guy's if possible" - no problem, providing you are a qualified Porsche mechanic [:)]

Beaky - you are very welcome to tag along on what will no doubt be a 'spirited drive'.

Ferry booked aswell . . . and I've got a semi.

Get to the classic before it becomes a 'lifestyle' event like Goodwood FofS [;)].

The Caen and Calais routes cross at a place call "˜Sees'. It takes about 1 ½ hours to get there from Caen and 3 ½ from Calais.

The Caen ferry arrives at 07:15 (French time) so we would be there at around say 9am. If we wanted to meet up there your Tunnel crossing needs to hit Calais at around 5:30am (Thursday 6th July) [8|].

There is a big Cathedral at Sees and you can see it from miles off if I remember rightly, so we could meet at the Cathedral no probs . . . spot of breakfast them do the remaining 50 miles down to Le Mans as one big group.

Just a thought, but probably not a goer considering how early the Calais contingent would need to get there.

Here's a map:

Just checked out the P-Post and Eoin wants us all to phone him?

Phil, I don't suppose you have spoken to him have you? Would just like to clarify the booking of Maison Blanche. Do we have to book the camping direct?
