Good to hear it is getting used, Johnny.....very best of luck to Mrs S for the event, that is certainly an impressive level of fitness, she must wear you out.....what with trying to keep up on the hills etc...[:D]

We seem to be going round in circles now and have probably covered most of the options,,,,,,until one of us comes up for insurance renewal? [:D]
Well, just to keep this going a bit longer here is my experience going through this exact exercise right now - renewal due on 10th July.......... I have been with Hagerty for several years, but as many will know, they are dropping track cover and further restricting mileage, so I am looking elsewhere. I have been talking to Classicline who seem to offer what I want, so I had a discussion with them yesterday re market vs agreed value. I mentioned the fact that our cars are not static in value, and if anything have been increasing, so was tempted to leave it as "market value" as that should keep pace. Their advice was not to leave it at market value as there is no way I would ever receive what I, or any of us, thought of as market value, which I thought was pleasingly honest of them. This rather reinforces the argument suggested by others that "market value" is a complete misnomer, and it is better to strike for an agreed value that you would be happy to receive even in the knowledge that values are likely to move around a bit. Obviously a higher agreed value allows them to charge a higher premium, but at least in that situation you really can quantify what you are paying for ! My own view is that RS values have probably peaked for now, largely thanks to a reversal in the Euro exchange rate, making UK cars rather poorer value for Euro buyers than earlier this year. I think this probably means that if an agreed value is struck today based on current like for like replacement cost, this should be ok for quite a while. Classicline reassess the agreed value every two years, though stupidly I did forget to ask if the value can be moved up or down during the policy period - I will do before signing on the dotted line. Jamie

Jamie, I have also gone with classic line,,,I had the market value conversation with them, it seemed to make sense.....now the forms are through and if you are getting a policy through "Brit", it turns out that any car valued above Ă‚ÂŁ20k has to have it's value "authorised by a car club official", obviously with accompanying photos etc... The fun and games continue,,,it almost feels like they are causing so much confusion, you could never bring yourself to actually make a claim, I hope I never have to find out..Good luck with yours.

Yes mine is the Brit policy, so subject to same terms as yours, though I didn't understand from it that you HAD to go agreed value at over Ă‚ÂŁ20k, but that it was merely an option (though I can see the sense in doing so). I will get a valuation done with help from the 964 RS Reg Sec. Jamie

Cheers Paul, much appreciated.

Extremely well done [;)] My daughter is into Equestrian pursuits and is currently onto the first rung of the * system where Bramham is 3* and the hardest courses are 4* (Burleigh, Badminton, Kentucky and a very few others). Of course there is an awful lot below the * system which she has worked her way through. This all takes intense dedication, and others who share such ambition deserve only the greatest encouragement -- and the very best of luck [:)]

Jonny congrats to your missus. As a keen cyclist, I know exactly what difference a good TT bike makes. However, what will make just as much difference is getting the aero setup right. Try Simon Smart (ex Red Bull F1 aerodynamacist and designer of the TT bikes for HTC Columbia) @ drag2zero for a wind tunnel session. I did one with him 2 years ago at Shrivenham, which resulted in a saving of about 4s per km at TT pace! I think he now uses the Brawn/Merecedes F1 wind tunnel. It's well worth the money. See you at Silverstone Ellis

Didn't someone once work out that a Ferrari 360 was cheaper to buy and run, on a three-year lease, than a horse? [&o]
