Wow. Can have my right hand drive red one with 68k miles on the clock for a giveaway £30,000 which seems better value...

Well after seeing adverts for cars for sale and reading this thread I went ahead and got a valuation from John Glynn. Here I was hoping that my car was still worth the £25,000 I paid for her back in 1993, well what a shock when John's valuation came back at £57,500! I have immediately got onto my insurance company. I can only recommend that everyone looks at their insurance values without fail because it was something that I have never paid attention to and the way the market is going it needs to be done.

So I have an 84 Carrera Sport with 62k miles form new with good history, I would say its an 8 or 9 out of 10 car .... what is the opinion on value please

One of our members has just had a club valuation at £70k[&:] However we both agree that this is quite frankly crazy talk. Realistically I think £40K is top 3.2 money, and it would have to be GOOD.

Not believing all this prices. You can still see them in the like of piston heads for 17000 plus and good condition. If they made what they say they are worth it would be better buying them than gold

Does John charge? I have just agreed a guaranteed valuation increase from £15K to £25K (with Heritage) based on photos but they wont go higher without an independent valuation. They wont accept a written valuation from Marque21 who just serviced it and valued at £33,750 "because they worked on it" ... so Marque21 suggested John as an option

John charges £35 - money very well spent.

I'd be a bit miffed about Heritage's attitude though because 1) surely Tim knows the car better than anyone if he's just worked on it and 2) he's as honest as the day is long!

Change insurer, go to Lockton

Just received updated valuation from JG.

42% increase from 16 months ago. Performing better than the stock portfolio!

Keeping fingers crossed that when I contact my insurer on Monday they don't fuss too much.

The values continue to be strong and can catch us out if we don't keep on top of them. To replace a good condition Carrera 3.2 with one of a similar condition will be expensive so having a current valuation is important. In your example Lindy Lou your insurer should renew with no question, but, be prepared for a rise in premium to for the additional cover. Consider it as the 'management fee' for your four wheeled portfolio! If you do have any problems follow the advice from chris hak and contact Lockton, if you are not already with them. Re. stephenlee5 Post No 30: Lockton will take valuations from your vehicle maintainer.

First post as a new member.

Just purchased my first 911 a 3.2 Carrera (1984). I have been driving Porsche cars for many years but it would seem I have met my match with this car. The heavy clutch is not a problem, the problem is finding the bite point on the clutch pedal when trying to get away from traffic lights etc.

The pedal travel is long and I am wondering if a Rennline Aluminum floor board and dead pedal, drivers side may be the answer? Has/have any members used or come across this item? Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
