Wanted: 964

Good summary there Oliver I would agree with you

But here is a question...

All you current 964 owners if you were in the market now looking for a c2 manual coupe would you be prepared to pay 35k for a >100k miles car? that is where the market is at.. for me not really

I bought my 964 Anniversary car a year ago for under £30k with 50,000 miles on the clock and 3 previous owners.

I have no intention of selling it but have had figures of near £50k being offered. The scary thing is that LHD versions of my car are selling for over €100k [:-] or £80k in our money

I have to laugh at the 100k miles talk tbh, much like Ferrari of the same era the aircooled cars were notorious for clocking. Now at 20+ years of age the only thing that should dictate price is condition. There will always be a few rare exceptions of course. If the car in question has had money spent on good maintenance then I see no reason why a 100k mile car should be any less coveted than a similar 3.2 or 993. Its also worth baring in mind that many cars have seen big money spent on suspension, paint and mechanical parts and with a good PPI will make a superb ownership proposition. Pinnacle of the original 911 concept imho and well worth the price of admission.
That reminds me...I have an oil leak to investigate!

Depends what happens in the future. If you buy one of these top cars, I think we will see them nudging £50K in 3 to 5 years.

I wish I'd seen this happening 4 years ago when I was offered a 964RS for just under £40K....hindsight can be a very annoying thing! [:'(]

mmmm cheap as chips... nice car thou is that where the market is..
there is a guards red one coming up mentioned before with thousands of spent at PARR very recently and its no where near that money...

In my efforts to find a suitable 964 i have found a very interesting 993 in polar silver with only 45k miles as a stop gap... I just needed the aircooled fix too much...;-)

Are 993 prices still ahead of comparative 964s, or have 'we' caught up?

They are still ahead but only slightly mine has a full RS kit on it with RS wheels. I thinking of going the whole Rs route and making changes to the egine and drivetrain ...,

Sounds like this car. I think the PO bought it from this dealer. Looks nice.

that's the one its a great car Its a import into the UK in 2001 I think it originally came from Japan. I've had the car checked over and it & all it needs is a lower cam gasket on the left bank.
The service history was a little patchy hence the price but had a full 24k service last year... drivers really well very happy with it.

thanks Steve would love to take her out at the next air cooled meet to meet you all. Any happening in the south east area ?
