Wanted 968 Club Sport or Sport

Think so. Can't see a rear wash wipe or wing mirror button, think I can see a window winder in the last pic. Sports seats and a sunroof I think Although the pictures and location for said pics, are straight from the "how not to impress any buyers whatsoever" manual[] If I could see the reg number I could tell. If anybody can get that it'be helpfull. Cheers Dave

It contantly amazes me how some folk advertise there car.. The pics are rubbish + as even the add says dont do it any justice whatover.... Even the add wording isnt particularly good especialy considdering its from a retailer.. + porsche specialist... But it looks like it has keep fit windows , but cant see much else.... It has "comfort spec seats" NOT the genuine CS seats...So basically , in my book, its not a genuine CS... But im being picky.....[;)][;)][;)][;)] ,,,But it most poss is a CS...

ORIGINAL: Steve Brookes Good choice for a new track car Sundeep [:)] This one keeps catching my eye for a track project: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1374747.htm Like the others mentioned above it's also owned by an enthusiast (he also has lovely SY 964 turbo). However I guess by the time you had a few mods done it would come out at the same price as PaulF's. In which case, my vote would go to the 'racing' white one [;)]
Steve, I'm going to stick to a Sport or CS (updated the thread title to say Sport), I now have some interesting options but my honest feeling is that there is a price limit for a 968 otherwise I'm in to 964 RS lookie cars..... If only the Euro would behave and swing the right way to get it's 993 Cup Car partner :) If it was Cat D then this Northern Ireland Car was an interesting option http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1404956.htm although lacking history any more out there [:D]

ORIGINAL: Alan Woods That yellow Sport that's been on Pistonheads for ages up in Scotland at 10.25k caught my eye.
that's an Original example, looks very nice but wouldnt be suitable for what I have in mind, a good example of a car for someone looking for OEM and intending to keep it OEM

It's been said before, but if it's a track-biased car rather than OEM, then condition and price/value are more important than variant - be it Coupe, Sport or CS, upgrade arbs, refresh the suspension, possibly coilovers and big brakes, and you're in business. What's with that JMG ad? With their solid rep I'd expect better. Is any 968 buyer really likely to respond well to "sexy" in the item description?

Wise words indeed. I've heard of JMG only recently, what's his reputation like?

I've not used them myself, but based on what is written in forums plus some word of mouth from people I know, they are one of the better indies. From what I've heard, their core business is servicing but are branching out into sales and performance mods and really know their front-runners.

Yeah a friend of mine way down south who runs a 944T is having some work done by him, I'd never heard of John Mitchell prior to this, sounds promising.

As Steve noted it is my 968 Sport in the ad. It's as the advert and does need to be sold before the end of January so i might be open to offers. When i got the car there was a PCGB sticker in the front window so maybe the car was known here before i got it. If i remember correctly it was based in Surrey and had a lot of work done by Parr.

Depends who you speak to....[8|][;)][:D][;)][8|]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edit. Its not that bad realy. Its got a lot of usefull techy info on quick fixes etc etc ... Just not as good as it "used" to be....[;)][8|][;)][8|]. although im sure some would say its "now" better....[;)][8|][;)][8|] Yes ive heard the registration is somewhat "strange", for want of a better word...

I asked the same question prior to registering, and 15 months later can vouch that that 968uk definitely is worth it. Packed with useful information about every aspect of the 968, and populated by a mature bunch who are more open-minded than typically found on single-make forums. As a relative newbie my perception is that (as with many forums) the community as it has evolved over time has become less "hardcore" in that post content has broadened beyond technical discussions alone, to cover a wide variety of commentary around all aspects of ownership.

plenty, I may see you there although apart from some assessment of my vehicle requirements (not sure if I ticked a box for that?) I can't even get past the registration process [&:] hhhhmmm, so reason for joining is to find a car to buy which means (the rocket science bit so hang on) I don't have a car right now as I am looking to buy one, so can't fill out the current car option so can't join (and won't know the chassis number on the other one on order for months!)

Why do they need your inside leg measurement to register with the forum? It's crazy!! I'm happy to glean info from here and a few choice forums where registering is simpler.
