WARNING big whinge

It's cill. [;)]

And I agree.

The whinge was obviously a tongue in cheek moan and the majority of you saw that and went along. One or two members took the opportunity to show their usual opinionated arragance but hey ho you expect that. `Poster beware ' lol hee hee

Not big and not clever. [>:]

Sorry missed this one when i posted above.

This post is the kind of crap that does make you end up in a '944 owners are seen different' camp. No one was being arrogant. People were trying to point out that maybe your 'BIG WHINGE' could have been avoided and maybe it's not that big a whinge really and hey just try and enjoy the car, life is too short.

It's your own fault for buying a crappy front engined under powered ugly rust bucket. Thats arrogant. [;)]

.....but as I had a 944 for my daily driver for the last year I'd never say that would I? [:D]

Jason your insulting and rude comments are unwarranted and rather bare out my comment about opinionated arrogance. I suggest a mod closes this thread before the rudeness escalates. Let J have the last word first though lol [;)][:D][:D][:D]

[pantomime]
Oh no it isn't.
[/pantomime]

It's "Ëśsill'. You only spell it with a "Ëśc' when referring to buildings.

The OED says so.

I suggest a mod closes this thread before the rudeness escalates.

The way I see it there's only been one unwarranted post in this thread, and it just made the poster look silly.

I'm sure we can all manage to behave ourselves without the heavy hand of the moderators! Group hug, chaps......[;)]

One of the things I particularly like about this forum is that the mods are not heavy handed. For once, this is a forum where the mods are balanced and sensible about things. Please keep it up![:)]

Oh I dunno. You should see Sims and Mcnulters at the bar, their hands are so heavy they can't get them out of their pockets :ROFLMAO:

I on the other hand, am still in the carpark with a pretend brake problem and I text in my bar order [;)]

I resent that remark. Any more like that and I'll have you banned. [:D]

I would rather keep quiet and let people think me a fool than to speak, and remove all doubt. I have already deleted a previous post out of disgust due to a poster's self opinionated criticisms. When life's ointment is spreading nicely there is always a fly waiting to come along and spoil it.

Yes, but can you prove you were banned?

"We cannot proceed.
Your SOS Forum account has been:
banned
locked
or you have not set a Display Name in your MY ACCOUNT "My Forum details" screen. Impersonating a recognised industry figure with intent to mislead."

As a joke a couple of us on a recording and sound forum decided to register a new user identity and pretend to be Steve Albini (a famous music producer). For this we were banned. A good example of Moderation gone over the top. I havent tried that here, but would I be banned if I pretended to be Ferdinand Porsche for example??

[;)][:D]

My user name on a Lotus forum is Dico. I went to an annual meet and some guy (who I had never met before) came up to me and said 'Hi Disco' []

Apologies in advance for any drunken posts tonight. Mrs Dico has brought the wine bottles out early [;)]

are you referring to your post recommending the OP disconnects their electric fans and runs their temperature of their engine up to 3/4 max to heat up some tight waterpump bolts ? lol[:D]

sorry but I thought your suggestion was ill advised and put the OP's engine at considerable risk of over-heating with possible damage to the cylinder head. I'm sorry that you felt my comment was an opinionated critism . I did not think that I had critised you personally and I was certainly careful not to be rude .

Good for her. Maybe I should start seperate a Friday evening OT & Booze thread and then delete it in the morning before we all remember what we posted - hic [8D]

I couldn't possibly comment. Actually I have deleted posts that were ill advised before.

However if you think my comments were ill advised look at the actual, Porsche supplied, figures provided by "DIVER944" in the helicoil thread and you will see that I was recommending taking the temperature to 100deg c, a temperature easily tolerated by the 944 engine, but I had the prior benefit of knowing that 3/4 on the gauge was about 100deg. A 944 is not going to go pop at 100deg C, nowhere near it so by definition my suggestion was not ill advised.

Having completely rebuilt my 924 engine right down to new valve guides and collets, and replaced all the valves in my 924 turbo head, repaired the idiot first gear synchromesh on the dog leg box, not to mention replacing the cylinder head gasket on a 944, oh yes and did I mention front springs on my 928, to name but a few, or that my profession before becoming a line manager was engineering technician in a large facility in the South of England, I have a bit of an idea too, but normally I don't go on about it. Starting a post with Jeeeeez or however many "E"s there were wont win you my everlasting respect as a poster of polite messages. Like Jason, I have now said all I want to say. I probably need to say more but I would most likely end up being very rude indeed about a number of inadequacies I have noticed in some posts.

yes but you did not advise the poster about the temperature and you have neatly avoided the fact that without the fans working the engine will continue to get a lot hotter after being switched off which is why Porsche fitted twin electric fans in the first place .
. ie the temperature will exheed 100 degrees. I thought it better to warn the OP than let him take the risk .

Quite a good title for this thread as it appears to be turning into a "Have a ruck over what ever you fancy" thread.

If you guys have a personal grievence perhaps you would like to conduct it via PM.
