I’m sure an older person of a certain age driving a Porsche doesn’t have that much effect.

(Let’s face it, quite a few PCGB members seem to be that age and well above)

My limited engineering knowledge suggests that changing back pressure does change engine calibration....same as changing a filter to something like K&N or an air intake kit as you've suggested.

but we are wandering off the OPs original topic re Porsche writing the rules of the game we choose to pay.

As others have said it's their rules...

No it does not change the calibration just that you may be able to reach data points that were not attainable. i.e the MAF May hit the next point up so maybe 4.6V rather than 4.5V. but all this is within the current envelope of data sets.
