We Meet Again...

I'm right by J26 M25

The red one in Portsmouth the history did not check out and was returned to the dealer as sold by misrepresentation a full refund was obtained.

The guy that bought it wanted the car as an investment

968 will not become a power project, but maybe that be for the better. Still give you a run out in mine, just to add to the confusion ;)

There's a nice looking bottle green one for sale. Which will look slightly black

I've been and grabbed some pics of the black one up here. Just been serviced and had the belts done - I've spoken to the guy who worked on it who said it was in good condition and nothing to report back to the owner.

87k miles, black with silver wheels and red Clubsport decals. Not got the hardback seats but has the rear seat delete and the CS shelf and the guys tell me it is a genuine one. Owner wants £16k.

I can email the pics I took as well as the contact details for the garage who have done the work on it. I don't have the private seller's details but the garage will.

It's £250 cheaper on PH.

Hi Dave', thank you for your efforts mate. Some pics might be nice if its not too much trouble [:)]. I'm having problems in my
head at the moment as to whether I should stick to my guns and keep looking for a Black, 964 C2 or, settle for the cheaper option
of a 968 which, I may or may not regret [:(]. Decisions, decisions [8|].........[:D]!!

I would go with the 964 if that's what you want. I reckon the 968 will be too similar to your 944 and probably slower/ less of an event. You will probably feel like you have ticked that box. 964c2 manual coupes all seem to be around £40k at the moment. Best bet is to find one which is off the radar either through here or try the London 964 guys / rennlist.

I might be stating the obvious, but you do realise that the 964 will be slower and less useable than your (and before that, my) old 944 turbo? You'll be bored with it in no time, and knowing you, won't have the patience to squirrel it away for another 10 years to wait for the next price boom. There's a lot to be said for a nice 964 C2, but how "you" is it?

Cashed in my black 964 c2 in Dec 14 £38k, banked a nice sum and bought a86 951 which I'm tinkering. I'm sure it'll be just as much fun if not more imho.

Have to agree with your comments Ewan, the 964 C2 is a strange device, and not very exciting.

I am a massive 911 fan, but the 964 C2 will not put a smile on your face like a good 44T or a 996TT or a 3.2 Carrera, because the flywheel is too heavy, the engine temperment is too docile, it sounds mediocre with its Cat etc, and the suspension is quite devoid of feel and un-911 like - it was the first non-torsion bar model.

Seam weld it, remove the dual-mass and fit a lwt RS flywheel, add a diff, lose the Cat, send it to Tuthill for cams and a tune to make it rev, sort the suspension, corner weight and 4 wheel align it, finish with a set of Recaro's and it will begin to feel, sound and perform like a really nice car. That is a lot of costly work though.

IMO based on own experience. (at 8/10ths Its quite like a bog standard 944t actually)

Mine has the lwt RS running gear, bigger brakes, uprated suspension, cup exhaust and top end rebuild. BUT £38k is £38k, if im all in for £10k with my 944 Turbo ill be more than happy.

Thank you all for your very sound advice chaps [:)]. Especially yours George [;)]. I don't mind a project in my old age but,
would prefer it to be of the "rolling/work in progress" type, rather than have it laid up in a garage, wheels off, for months at a
time [:(] (I've been down that road as you all well know) [:(]!! I also believe that I probably would get fed up with a 968 and, find
it the same as a 944 in hindsight [8|]. So, I have decided NOT to rush into a quick Porsche purchase just for the sake of it but,
to have fun in my T4 for the rest of this year (He gives some normal Porsches a run for their money [8D][:D]) and, stick some more
dosh into my car fund and see what happens [;)]. Depending on how that goes, I may even make an enquiry to Ninemeister about
building a bespoke one with all the goodies George mentioned [8D]. Have a great season chaps, hope to see some of you at
Le Mans in June [8D][:D].

Kind regards.

Pete' (Ex Skyline).
