Welcome

Hi Mel,

Obviously you are completely jealous, but thanks anyway for pushing this topic again to the top [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

By the way, are you going to the Halfpenny Green wings & wheels at Easter?

Well done on stepping up to the plate, Mike. Hope you'll still be able to find time for some 911 outings too. [;)]

Just had a Macan launch invitation for April 7th. this morning. [:)]

We've been looking at the Evoque recently as the Macan seems to be a little too large for our purposes.[8D]

Regards,

Clive.

Guys,

had the chance to look around the new Macan Turbo last week courtesy of What Car. The car looks lovely and is pretty big inside too. They were telling me the entire year production has been sold out already.

I'm tempted by the Macan after seeing it in the flesh. If it drives as well as the autocar review then you guys are going to be getting a great car

The museum is fantastic too

Does anyone know if factory collection is going to be back on the cards ?

Jon

No factory collection as yet.

I look forward to the diesel Macan, the torque is immense and the mid range acceleration will be mind blowing. I'm not interested in top speed [:D]

...

It is the size that is putting me off. It will be interesting to see the extent to which all these Macan sales are new incremental sales for Porsche vs sales that would otherwise have been Cayennes. I feel they would have opened a larger market for themselves (and not hit Cayenne sales) if they had come down in size rather further (not in price). But no-doubt they have done the research and I have not! We shall see.

That is a shame because I really enjoyed it 10 years ago collecting my first Boxster. Just had invite from Hatfield for the launch, need to talk to my local OPC about an invite.

Still on the subject of options, a no-brainer is the 18" collapsible spare wheel. A certain Dealer Principle had a big puncture last night and the goo/glue was no use. He was out of mobile coverage so he had to walk in dreadful weather.

I have also added the compass display... cheap at £219 and worth having instead of the silly sport chrono.

I also added Monochrome Black exterior package (high gloss), only £138 and will look good on a white Macan.

I may delete the Panorama roof as I'm told it tends to stick.. Any comments?

Panorama roof on the Cayenne is brill. Night and day, as they say [;)]. Would be one of the first boxes ticked on a big motor like these as it floods the light in. You can leave it cracked open if the dog's inside as well.
Not heard of any sticking ones and you don't keep them long enough for the warranty to run out!
Definitely have the spare wheel, I know this from bitter experience too.

Derek - I hear on another forum that there are production problems with the high gloss black exterior package and if you stick with it, it will push back your build date. Don't know if there is any truth in this?

Macan Trivia for the day:

In the same way as other Porsche models have a model number ie 987/997 981/991 etc the Porsche Macan will also been known as the 95B. (Yes B wasn't a typo).

No, I have not heard of that.... [:(]

It's been there since 6 Jan and in theory has now gone, obviously not yet!
