What can cause 3 cyl running at start up?

good news ..
.Bad weather and lack of use is a lethal combination for these old cars . Looks like its cured itself for now but I suspect it will not be the last time you'll have starting issues

Yeah I suspect you are probably right! Although my fingers are crossed that 4 years of cobwebs have been blown away and I'll now be trouble free..............long odds though! [:D]

I'll be interested to see the result of your roof seal work, mine is in a dreadful state due to algae and mould

This one is a cab! A very leaky one at present with a sliced rear window. It's having the roof removed, new window fitted, new front seal and the other seals spruced up then the roof re-fitted and re-aligned. Probably never be water tight but hoping its a lot less leaky when I get it back! I have supplied the new front seal and the rest is being done for the bargain price of £200 including re-stitching my steering wheel while they have it.

Stuart

that is a bargain !

Wish Porsche produced an electric foldaway roof like the SLK now that would be cool

Indeed that would be cool. I would just settle for the previous owner to find the tonneau cover for my roof which he seems to have lost moving house. Rocking horse poo on ebay and a snip at £719 from Porsche Shop!

blimey ! you could get a repro made for that I should have thought ?
Why not take the PO a nice bottle of wine and a Chrismas card ,show him what you've done with the car and ask him to look for the cover whilst you are there....he can hardly refuse [;)][:D]

im sure there is a place in the USA that makes them, someone on 968uk just bought a replacement roof from them £300

ORIGINAL: peanut

Already tried a gentle nudge but still no joy!

Hopefully it's sorted but sound like start of hg. When it's warm metals expend sealing the slight leak.

My initial thoughts Terry however by starting first time on Tuesday on a freezing cold morning straight onto 4 cylinders after an italian tune up the night before makes me think something may just have been gummed up. Fingers crossed!
