What did you do over Easter?

As SWMBO took the Legacy with her on to the airport this weekend, I had no estate car to fit the girls in, and no 4WD to negotiate the snow and the off-road nature of the car park. About 20 dogs turned up with their owners for our regular Vizsla walk, most in more sensible machinery.

I was pleased to see one dog in a Boxster. Just as I was wondering how they'd get two people and a dog in, he got into his other car, a Gallardo Roadster....[&:]

The girls weren't so happy when I closed the hatch, though! [:D][:D]

Nowt, Ive got a stinking cold which has been brewing since tuesday and broke yesterday. I was going to change the rear pads and Optimoly grease up all the wheel studs but SWMBO has me on rest orders (I get ratty apparently when not well).

I have the book "Classic Motorsport Routes" by Richard Meaden which I will probably start reading to plan our grand tour in September.

Yesterday I watched Eastern Promises on DVD, one of the best films I have seen in a while.

I took the car for a drive a couple of times I also actually managed to get around to fixing one of my many R/C cars and went out with a mate of mine and raced his Savage monster truck against my little 1/18th electric RC18B and what good fun it was too haven't had anything to do with R/C cars for over a year now due to various reasons and really enjoyed it, only managed to get 45mph though as it was a bit wet and 95+mph is a bit uncontollable in the dry let alone the wet in something as small as that.

I installed all the audio gear I bought off Ben into the 944. Sounds rather nice now.... I really couldn't stand the very tinny sounds from just the 6x4 speakers the car had before!

Ended up having to buy a new amp and a new pair of 6x9s as the old ones looked a little suspect (speakers cones were distorted) but its all fitted now and it does sound rather good...

I know some would disagree... but when you spen as much time stuck in traffic in London in the car as I do its nice to be able to to be entertained even with the car sat still

I do agree decent speakers are a must really when listening to music because if it sounds tinny it just ruins the music also it's nice to be able to drive along listening to some nice music, it can sometimes really make a good drive a whole lot better. I get accused of having an odd taste in music though as I like Gary Numan, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Rammones, The Specials, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Tangerine dream, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, AC/DC and various others, some of that is quite popular and some of it not so but apparently for someone of my age (not sure what to make of that) it's quite an odd taste in music.

We've done absolutely nothing so far. We're supposed to be at our static caravan in the Lakes but SWMBO seems to be enjoying a sleep fest and she's only just got up. Luckily I've got the week off work so we're going tonight till next Saturday. [:)].

and no 4WD to negotiate the snow

Did some green laning in Derbyshire on Saturday. Sold the Discovery (3rd pic down) to a pal, and bought my 944 turbo [;)]

To be honest I'm not too sure. We went through castleton at one point if thats any use? There weren't many road signs off the beaten track.

As SWMBO took the Legacy with her on to the airport this weekend, ......

I seem to have missed out on my invite to the party at Chez McNulty. I assume you would be acting as host as you have the house to your self.

Regrettably I would have to have declined any way. The in-laws have returned from wintering in Teneriefe and descended on Chez Sims like a cloud of doom this evening. It is amazing how much you can put up with after a few glasses of wine though. [&:]

I fitted some new anti roll bar bushes at the front (OEM), those KLA Industries drop link support brackets, and some new castor mounts, which are the improved ones from the 968. It's made a massive difference and made the 135 mile drive back home from Easter lunch with the family much smooooooother. Really enjoying the S2 now and it's now ready for a track day. Hoorar.

I also took the chance in the brief spell of sunshine to check the sunroof drainage, only to find all pipes were clear and so took it for a blast without the roof in. All I can say is that the buffeting was too much for me, so I won't be doing that again....

Don't own a dog for either the back or the front, so can't comment. A mountain bike fits in with the seats down and the front wheel off (mountain bike, obviously!) I recently found out however.

Experiment with the angle of the plastic flap at the front of the roof and open one of the windows by a mm.

You'll find the sweetspot and can then cruise comfortably up to illegal speeds with no buffeting. Noise and fresh air yes, but no buffeting

I seem to be the exception on this forum. I was working.

Does no one else on here have a proper job?[;)]

Went to my caravan just outside ross on wye and came home after 2nd day......sooooo windy I thought I was on a boat in the sea[&:]

I used to work virtually all the bank holidays in my old job (was nice to get double pay for doing bu66er all because everywhere was shut) but now I have my own little business I can pick and choose when I want to work.

I've spent this weekend tarting up the S2 for Spring and have tried really hard not to think about my Turbo coming home real soon [8D] It hasn't worked [8|] but at least the S2 is cleaner

The weather forecast for this weekend was not nice so I wrote off spending any time on or in the 944, so its been tucked up in the garage all break. The weather has turned out nice as it happens so I'm now regretting not allocating any time 944. Spent most of my time entertaining the little 'un and spent all yesterday in the pub with my mates watching footy and drinking beer (Who said this binge drinking is new? I've been doing it for the best part of 15yrs now). We had big plans for staying out all night, but we were all fighting sleep by about 8pm !! I'm a shadow of my former self when it comes to going out now, mind you we had been out since midday so we didn't do too badly. So we had a dirty donner and went home!

Off to the zoo with the little 'un tomorrow as the place I work at gives us tomorrow off as well!! I don't think my job would count as a proper job according to Chris's definition!

SWMBO what that mean?
I spent today chopping up branches and wood for the wood burner; which took most of the day, at least it was sunny. other than that not to much excitement this weekend.
