Well I had a couple of hours exploring the lanes near home on the Sunday afternoon and discovered just how adjustable the handling is - really does feel like it pivots around you, especially when you lift off in a corner to tuck the nose in a little.
Monday saw the car laoded with wife and 3yr old and over to the coast and then out to a steam engine ride between Southport and Preston, at which point it started to snow[8|].
The car went well, although that Bilsten suspension is no more forgiving over bumps when 3 up than it is when solo - my wife is not smitten it has to be said!
I started to notice a 'click' through the steering column when applying right lock from the straight ahead, which I am going to investigate tonight - track rod end ball joint perhaps; it had a new steering shaft UJ last month, so it can't be those...
After getting home I had a good look around under the bonnet with a torch (always do that after a run, just to check for any leaks etc - paranoid moi?!!![8|]) and noticed that I seem to be missing a nut from the exhaust manifold. After further investigation with a small screwdriver, it appears that I may be missing part of the stud too...[

Off to Unit 11 on Friday morning to see what can be done to extract/replace it - I had been suspecting a slight blow recently. The thing is, it looks like there was something there recently as there is a 'mark' on the manifold from the washer etc.
I can't see how it would just snap in service as it were and I certainly haven't been near the manifold nuts. I'm slightly annoyed as, just after I bought it, it went into a certain Porsche specialist near to me (NOT Unit 11, I hasten to add) who were instructed to do the belts and give it a full service and check it right through and give me a condition report. This they did and I have the (relatively) glowing report at home and there is no mention of a broken exhaust manifold stud[

Ah well, these things are sent to try us, I suppose[
