Come on chaps, lets get this Turbo forum moving with a few pictures of your car..... ok I' m not David Bailey but I tried. I apologise if they are a little slow to download, I set them near the 200k maximum, another time I' ll make them smaller. As a bit of background info, this is the 6th Porker I have been lucky enough to own over the years, it all started with a 944 (250) Turbo (Great car) back in 92 (it' s a slippery & expensive slope this Porsche ownership thing) I' ve had the TT for 7 months now & still love it to pieces.

Please post your own Porker picture below, always interesting to see & hear about anothers pride & joy.
NOW RE- SIZED SO YOU DON' T WAIT 2 HOURS 4 DOWNLOAD>>sorry for the first attempt.

Picture at the factory collecting the car in March 2003. It clocked up 5000 miles today!
I only managed 6000 miles in 2 years with a Ferrari 360!

Richard the car looks great, interesting that you used to own a 360, how have you found the TT in comparison, I' d be interested to know the + & - of 360 ownership.

Turbo looks good!!!!

I' ve just noticed that you have a body-kit on the picture with the German plates, but not on the other two shots. Only interested as I have the factory-fitted kit on mine. Did you have it taken off?

Regards, Chris.

Hi Chris,
thanks for the post, lets have a picture of your beast next please.
The first two pictures are of my TT, which hasn' t got the aero-kit & the next is Richard Inces which has got it. In honesty I prefer the Turbo without the aero-kit, but it is all down to personal taste & it does look " meaner" with it.
Interested to know how long you have had the Turbo, what you had before & how you are enjoying the car.

The Turbo is a much more usable car than the 360. I have 2 children and family trips out are now possible. Unlike the 360 I use it as my everyday car and have only driven my M5 a handful of times since!
The 360 is very much in your face and attracted attention when ever I drove it, the 911 is not so bad.
The F1 gearbox would not always change down when driving hard and I have got a manual 911. The 911 manual gearbox is clumsy when going from say 6 to 3rd for a quick overtake and needs a centralising spring so you know where the correct gear is.
The traction control is much better on the 911 but I am disappointed by the pressure need to make the brakes bite.
The car is narrower which make it easier to drive on narrow roads.
Why does the 911 have such a small fuel tank?

Hi Grant,

Yes, simply love my Turbo! So flexible, amazing performance (especially with the 450bhp upgrade) and great useability.

I personally prefer the Turbo with the body-kit as I think it looks more ' muscular' , and differentiates it further from the 4S.

I' m looking forward to seeing what the 997 Turbo looks like!

Regards, Chris.

nice car u got grant a 2002 porsche turbo do u know that this is my first thread [;)]your car looks great

Chris , thanks for posting a picture of your beastie. The car looks simply great. Suitably " mean & menacing" in a darker colour with body kit. Not forgetting the trendy number plate ! By the way have you had a sports exhaust fitted or is it as standard (if you can call X-50 spec. standard !!!) I only ask because I am currently toying with getting one, & am trying to find anyone who has already taken the plunge ?
Cheers..

PS...thanks for the post e30mpowerd.

Hi Grant,

In answer to your question re a sports exhaust: with the X-50 spec upgrade Porsche do (amonst other things) modify the exhaust, air-filter and remap the engine-management chip which does result in a ' sportier' sounding exhaust note. However, talking to Brian Goff of Jasmine Autosport he told me that the sports exhausts from Gembella etc. require a remapping of the engine management chip and a consequencial invalidating of the Porsche warranty (plus, possible noise problems at certain track days).

I agree that the ' standard' Turbo exhaust note is rather muted.

Brian' s number is 0128 269 7171 If you want to discuss this with him. Brian is very knowledgeable and very helpful on all things Porsche.

Good luck! Regards, Chris.

Hi Steve,
another piston-header on the PCGB forum, congratulations on the new baby, I look forward to seeing it "unveiled" here shortly. Liked the Eynsham hall pictures, yes I noticed the two "911-virgin" ladies as well, but I noticed your focus was more on 356's !!!
