What work have you done on the car this weekend?

I fitted a new quick response throttle cam and can thoroughly recomend it. What a difference, pick up is so much sharper. Cheap and only took two minutes to fit.

Fitted new bonnet struts, i was sick of the hood coming down on me at the same time as me having both hands full.

Fettled a few stone chips and fitted new Goodyears on the front, the correct size so the steering is so much lighter now.

Put a new battery in her this morning, I had been using a smaller one borrowed from my VW beetle. I feel better the correct one is now in place.

Rebuilt the rear brakes to the Sebring Sprite. I haven't touched it since the Rally of the Tests 2005 and after a vigorous event it always gets oil in the rear drums - since the handbrake is much in use around the pylons that is a concern - new linings, gaskets, seals and O rings.
It'll be back out and sharp as a razor by January.
Porsches are dull, nuffink to do[:-]

Sorting out the wiring loom where it goes through the A pillar into the drivers door cos it kept shorting out and setting the alarm / locking the doors.

Put in some new front speakers - Also started to replace old amber indicator lenses with clear ones. Had to give up as couldn't get one of the old bulbs out seems jammed in solid . Thinking next weekend will have to get the whole unit out of the bumper and try again to shift the bulb, unless anyone else has a suggestion to loosen it without breaking the thing in-situ. Most frustrating as the one I did get in place looked really good !

Fitted new number plates+surrounds and right now on my way to change the inlet manifold gaskets..it still counts as a weekend for me - i'm not going to work before 7pm..[:D]

I sorted out a switched live to my cd player - sick of having to turn it on and off manually! It now comes on and goes off with the ignition key - great!

I also fitted a bluetooth handsfree kit, whilst I had the centre console in bits.

Didn't actually do any work on the car this weekend, but, did put the front suspension back together after 3months waiting for some custom made spring caps - car now sits ~ 1" lower at the front.

Oh, whilst I was waiting I also fitted a new fuel pump, filter, flexible hoses (replaced with braided steel) around the fuel tank, a fuel pressure gauge and a boost gauge !

Nothing [&:][&:][&:][&:] Pissed down all weekend.

I meant to take it out after 10 weeks of builders stuff and scaffold being in the way due to an extension but couldnt find time as mostly these weekends I am playing at being a builder [&o]

Mind you, I managed to find a mint Suzuki Sj 410 softtop languishing in my plasterers front garden for next to no money. Engine gone but a great basis for an offroad project 4x4 to compliment `Snotty` my current SJ410V [8D]

Nothing! The car is running sweeeeeeet at the moment so I am just enjoying it while it lasts. I do have a pair of new OEM rear disks and pads that are waiting patiently to be fitted when I get time.

Today I replaced all the bits removed for painting: clear side repeaters, mirrors (and the teardrops I had painted have LHD bases on that I didn't think to check [] so they are still in the garage after being fitted and then removed to replace the flags), rear decal, side decals, replace rubber seal between sill trims and body plus I got 4 new Conti Sport Contact 2 N2 tyres fitted. I booted it away from the fitting centre with the brand new tyres on without thinking and it lit up all 4 wheels and started to kick sideways in the dry [:D][:D][:D][:D]

I didn't get a chance to tidy up the wiring for my hands free kit, replace the front door speakers or clean the interior as i had to stop at lunchtime. Oh well, sometime I'll have a chance to get all the jobs done.

I will be fitting my new leather/wood gear knob and my new sports steering wheel.Next weekend I will fit my upgraded door speakers.[:D]

Today I picked the bits from the disassembled turbo gearbox I brought to the chap who has rebuilt one of my S2 gearboxes. It took me so much time to get all the right parts (supplier got some parts numbers wrong twice) that at some point we were not too sure anymore how to put it back together and needed another gearbox to get things right ... A very Mister Bean moment indeed [&:]

had another crack at my clear indicators. The original drivers side bulb is still firmly stuck in its socket despite a lot of cajoling and WD40. Looks like whoever put it in jammed it good and proper somehow []. So still no clear fronts though did put the sides on which look great - Dont know what am going to do with the recalcitrant bulb is hugely annoying and frustrating !

I gave Beaky some new spark plugs. His old ones didn't look bad, and had a nice colour to them, which I guess is good.
