What work have you done on the car this weekend?

ORIGINAL: Suffolk944

had another crack at my clear indicators. The original drivers side bulb is still firmly stuck in its socket despite a lot of cajoling and WD40. Looks like whoever put it in jammed it good and proper somehow []. So still no clear fronts though did put the sides on which look great - Dont know what am going to do with the recalcitrant bulb is hugely annoying and frustrating !

It sounds like someone has jambed in the wrong bulb. 944 indicators have a strange offset on the pin. I couldn't get the correct chrome bulb for my clear indicators and had to file one of the pins down to get the bulb I had to fit.

You may well have to break the glass to get your wrong bulb out.

Both Heckmoter Wagenen seem OK so I've been fettling the Bonneville Sprite. Untouched since the Rally of the Tests 2005. Loads of wear and damage not to mention 20kg of dried mud and debris tucked up in the arches.
Started first time though!
Two weekends and it'll be up and ready, then I start on the Jarama. A long job I fear.

Third time lucky with the clear lenses - finally got them on today and am well pleased with them. Did indeed have to break the glass of the jammed bulb - thanks for the tip !

Fitted my new 120watt speakers today and very pleased with the result, would recommend to anyone who is thinking of 944 replacement upgrades.

Mostly I will be putting more fuel in. My local Shell love me right now [:)]

Edited to add Oooh I forgot I had some clear lenses I bought last year, something to do tomorrow [:D]

On Friday I had the geometry settings adjusted to 964 RS specs.

Today I finally tidied up the wiring to my phone kit, got the switched and permanent lives to the stereo the right way round so the clock runs when the ignition is off as well as on and replaced the DAB aerial that fell off last weekend with an internal one. It needs a darned good clean now though after being used for a week as transport (just for fun).

My 20 year older passed last week and cost me .....................................a brake light bulb! not bad eh?[:D]

Fitted a CD player, fixed the sloppy gear linkage, tidied up the wiring, removed some surface rust and primed it ready for paint, washed and polished the whole car. Then i began waxoiling the underside of the car.

Finally got the handbrake fixed plus replaced failed tail light bulb, washed and hovered, put a screw in an anoying piece of trim that wasnt staying up properly!

Happy now though:)

Ben
