What's in your Cassette holder thing?

I too have removed the plastic cassette holders and have them in my shed! I have fitted a non slip mat and keep sunglasses, coins a pen, oh......and a stanley knife blade for some reason (i cant remember why)!!!!

Mine has the two levers for releasing the roof, ½ a packet of Extra Strong Mints (Menthol flavour - hard to find), a small flat head screwdriver, and a small assortment of screws and washers which have appeared after several small DIY jobs on the car. It also has 1 cassette divider in there, and no room for anything else.

I too have removed this.

Divided it in two, placed none slip matt, back section has tyre pressure gauge and front section has been hard wired for my I Pod to play through the CD Changer port on the stereo and keeps I Pod out of prying eyes

Mines got the front panel from my stereo (hope there's no car thieves listening!) a spare interior light bulb (that I haven't got round to fitting yet) and a box of Wrigleys Extra (for those Herbie moments!). Interestingly, like many readers, my cassette dividers are residing in the garage.

I still have the dividers in there and use it to lean my elbow on whilst driving.

The guy who is using the rest to lever themself out of the car with, well, sooner or later the top will 'rip' off and you'll need a new insert (about £10) which I had to do. Spent the few quid to keep it original.

Mine broke when I thought my arms would be long enough to pop the bonnet from the drivers seat by leaning over into the passenger footwell, apparently I'm not the only one who has broken their's like this. [&:]

My one looked very nice and original as I had bought a new hinge off eBay.

I was quite pleased with my attempt at DIY until the day my wife got in the passengers side, looking for somewhere to put the keys for her car, and proceeded to lift the lid clean off the screws. []

Got one of these in the garage - just trying to find away to make it work off a 12v battery, when that works it will be sat in the cassette holder, I know its going to be a tight fit so I doubt I'll be able to use the lid, if anyone wants the lid with working hinges, PM me.
I hope to use it for GPS and store all my MP3's, I might be able to get rid of my KLR and DME too, just need to find a suitable cable. It should have enough processing power to do a few other things, like measure boost pressure and AFM. I am told you can get Freeview TV on it too.

I should be able to get hold of another one sometime soon so if anyone wants one - let me know.

Wizard,

Your login name will really be apt if you manage to make one of those do all that.

Mind you, if you can get hold of another one I'd be quite interested. Always wanted a supercomputer ...

Oli.

A couple of spare bulbs, the security wheelnut thingy, sometimes a wallet and phone or maybe a pair of spectacles, and, if extra dimensions are allowed in this post, a foggy street in old London, a few leftover bits of Cybermen, one bent exterminator thing off a Mk1 Dalek and, in my dreams, Billy Piper!

I had a flat tray with rubber antislip mat that didnt work,so i bought a lid from the porsche jumble for £15 which was a perfect match to the interior cream leather.I keep small pencil torch, chewingum, sunglasses and when driving my mobile phone.

Mine went in the skip a little while ago, swapped for one of those Drinks holder ones, doesn't hold on to(a drink) very well especially around corners, with my somewhat jiggley ride [&:]

I too have the roof release T wrenches, all the dividers and a spider. I am thinking of reducing weight in two stages; firstly by removing the spider, getting used to that, then going the whole hog and removing the web and to hell with upsetting the car's balance.

When i went to look at my car to buy it, the tape holders was in there, when i picked up the car the week later and got it home i looked inside and they was gone? he had me off, what could he possibly do with them?
