What's the real value of a 993RS ?

ORIGINAL: vic cohen

Busy in Bermuda then ! Google working as well ! ........................

don't know what you're talking about .....

you need to patent your very own varioram system VC....got to be some reason why you can keep on talking when others have run out of breath:p

nice googling[:D]

tbh when you do google it you realise how much of a problem it is in lots of different cars!

In my own defence, Cup Car very raw, noisey solid lifters etc, quite different in character to even rs cs, not much subtlety ...........delivery seemed all on, or all off and not much at all below 4 000 rpm, i guessed thats just how they are ........................the flap now working all of the aformentioned remain ,a few bhp restored , maybe as much as 20 -30 even BUT the delivery is far smoother and responsive ............was a bit of a plank to drive until now ...........................

Vic, how did you spot the problem?

Unreal , one of the guys started a thorough check for lack of delivery ............timing was known factor , concerned the guy before might have buzzed it ................had also checked dizzy belts .................your answer he was standing behind the car, engine running and happened to tap the solenoid , kinda surged ........................when he looked closer the solderered joint was nt!

I was getting suspicious on power at Spa ,TS was going out but then with the rain did nt seem much point............................i ve only diven 2 cup cars and felt it was just the way they are !!!!!!

Interesting... Will get mine checked [;)]

At first, just after i bought it, i took to a reliable rolling road..................bhp was nt amazing but within reasonable parameters ,will return when i get a chance and see what it says now ..........................but with all this 'rawness' and not used to the car i thought it was my driving style needed attention................although we were nt out at the same time at Spa ,TS in the white cup left me for dead on the straight ............so i thought i am being chicken at Eau Rouge, need more committment to get top speed on the straight ;then BRands couple of weeks back, where i am very at home, getting passed by people that just should nt have !
I really think u would notice after the time u ve had urs .....................i would now be quite sure it had never been working during my ownership.....................hence my real delight at how it is now .
